One of the most interesting shows of the 2000-2001 television season. It was very well-written and the casting was perfect. Basically anything with such a talent as Bebe Neuwirth can be good if it wants to. This show however never got a good chance to get going, as the promotions were short, small, and goofy looking.

This was a great show and it was nice to have something interesting and different to watch on the boring Monday night.

Great show. I was thinking maybe Dick Wolf is spreading himself thin just like Steven Bocchco did with Brooklyn South (another really good show) but deadline is good stuff. Unfortunately, I heard on the radio that it was cancelled. Can anyone confirm this? Where can I write to NBC and ask them what the hell they are doing?!??!!

Surprisingly, I liked this latest show from Dick Wolf, I didn't think I would after seeing the promo over and over and over again...It's nice to see Bebe Newirth back on tv, her character is strong as the editor of the New York Ledger. However, Oliver Platt seems miscast as the lead...he's a great actor, but this doesn't seem the right vehicle for him. Overall, it is a good show, one that probably won't make it past 2 seasons (NBC has a horrid record with pulling the shows that us not-so-stupid people like to watch.) The stories are topical, pretty much like the "ripped-from-the-headlines" Law and Order, and this past week's offering about a 60's activist who has assumed a dead Vietnam vet's identity was very captivating. Kudos, I hope they can keep up the great writing, it's going to take a lot to get this show up to the top and keep it there.
