Nobody's first choice at QB but he fits in well with his team, which is just as important to me in a sport where the levels of visibility at the starting positions are so unequal. It's kind of refreshing to watch a team where the QB is perhaps not even among the five most prominent players. Boller mostly gets the job done.

Boller is an NFL oddity. If you ever watch him practice you'll be in awe at this kid's ability. It seems like it's impossible for him to make a mistake... almost. You watch him play in a game and it's an entirely different story. How is a coach supposed to fix problems with his QB when he does so well in practice? I think most people consider him entirely washed up. I, on the other hand, think it has more to do with the team around him. I think the Ravens line is strictly a fast, run-oriented line. They have trouble stopping the inside and right-side pass rush. He's also never had a solid reciever core with any depth. Whenever his best reciever throughout most of his career has been Todd Heap, who is horribly over-rated, you can see the problems he faces. Give him a year and with the development of Mark Clayton, resurgence of Derrick Mason, and a running-game without coke-fiend Jamal Lewis, we might see more of what made him a first-round pick. Then again, probably not. He is still at least worth his weight as a backup, so I'll rate him average.

Boller showed improvement at the end of 2004, and with a much improved offense on the horizon in 2005, he should become a better NFL player.

He throws a nice ball, but doesn't seem to be especially accurate. Seems to fumble quite a bit. Most damningly, down the stretch against Kansas City, it looked like he got really rattled - and yes, that was against the uhhh vaunted Kansas City Defense. Wait until he sees Jevon and the Eagles blitzing secondary.. he may have a heart attack.
