What a concept...an entertaining cooking show. Loved it. Too bad Ms. Paterson had to die. A very original cooking show with two real people that obviously enjoyed their work. I miss them. And kudos to them for actually hunting their own food! I think all meat eaters should have to harvest their own meat. You might learn something in the process and game meat is generally much heathier than stuff from the meat counter.

Fantastic show, witty with good hearted down to earth cooking, sad that one of them died a few years back.......

I don't think I'd make any of the recipes, I don't know where to find that much butter and streaky bacon, but that's not why I love it. It's all about Jennifer and Clarissa.

This was a great show because of the companionship between the two ladies. Some of that stuff they cooked, though, left a little to be desired. For instance, on one show they were making a great looking sandwich and then all of a sudden, one of them plopped a big chunk of BEEF TONGUE on top of it. Now that's nasty. You must have to be from England to appreciate that kind of food.

Brilliant show, I loved this on the BBC. Jennifer and Clarissa are the most natural, unpretentious people on television, and they so obviously love their subject. It's a joy to watch them potter about whichever kitchen they have commandeered, chatting away merrily whilst preparing some mouthwatering traditional British dishes. I'm surprised to learn this is being aired in the US: 1) because most people think 'British' & 'cooking' do not go together (an extremely unfair accusation which stems from the lean years post-WWII, and one which the French and - dare I say it - Americans are quick to reinforce); 2) the recipes are not all that conducive to maintaining the stick thin figure so beloved in the US and many other Western countries (although a quick look at national health stats show many are not very successful at maintaining it). A great program, although the show wasn't so much cancelled as brought to an untimely end due the death of Jennifer Paterson. As for Ms. Lane's comment - where do you think meat comes from? The birds don't just obligingly fall from the sky, ready plucked. And at least wild game doesn't suffer some of the appalling conditions that befall supermarket fowl before they end up on the shelves.

Mixed feelings about this show. Those two fit eachother perfectly, and it was fun seeing them ride in that moped (was it?) around the country side and then cook at various locations. What really brings down the grade here are two specific things. 1) They've only done one thing that I actually thought looked good, a punchball icecream. 2) I DID NOT appreciate the episode where they went out and SHOT wild birds to later pluck and cook them. Made my stomach turn. Otherwise it was a show I watched, not for the food, but for the good companionship of the two fat ladies.

The best cooking show ever. Unfortunely it was cancelled a few years back. Whenever it's on you should catch it though. Lightweight humor and great-looking dishes.
