I buy non oem cartridges from this company for $5. I treat my canon pixma rough. I've printed 100 page documents on it often. The machine works well. The only thing is that the scanning feature is not fully compatible with vista. However not a big deal just import from the pc using a program and you can scan what you need. You can feed paper from the cartride or the back. I use the cartridge for regular paper and the back for photo papers, envelopes etc. It's convient to have tow palces to feed paper. Oh and copies are fast and easy to do if you don't mind quality. If you want quality its a bit slower but you can do it. This is my favorite printer.

I've had the Pixma 610 for a little less than three weeks. I ordered this printer from Amazon at 10 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2008, chose free shipping and received the printer Nov. 12th (1.5 days). Amazing Amazon! But at the time of writing this review Amazon is offering this printer for $50 less than I paid for it. I made several phone calls to Amazon and Canon but could not get it price adjusted. Amazon's new price is an internal "instant rebate," but Amazon no longer offers "matching" even its own price. Oh well, you can't win all the time and I am pleased with the printer. Customer service for Amazon and Canon are both excellent. I use an iMac computer and it is compatible in all its functions. I've printed 53 b&w; documents, 7 4x6 high quality photos, 2 sheets full of high quality photos, 17 color documents, 12 sheets of text with some color, and I made 4 color copies, for a total of about 100 printouts. All of the ink cartridges still appear totally full. Text and color are exce... Read more

I've had this Canon PIXMA MP610 for about a month. The copy quality is excellent in black and white, and in color. The printing is quick and quiet, the scanner works well, and the controls are intuitive and easy to use. I'm not particularly technically oriented, and I found the machine wonderfully easy to set up. The instructions were superb--absolutely clear, and everything happened just as it was supposed to. It is a smart machine and will do things like stop to tell you, "the inner door is open. Please close it." I was able to print something within half an hour. I can't speak about ink use this soon, but I bought this machine because Consumer Reports recommended it highly and gave it a good rating for the cost per page. I haven't tried the photo printing yet but it is supposed to be excellent. I gave this great machine four stars for only one reason: the plug in back is not snug enough and falls out at the drop of a hat. This is a pain, but is probably not typical.

I went on consumer reports before I bought this and found this no. one for the price and wow it beats my old dell all to pieces. I havent bought any ink yet so I cant tell you about that but for the speed and quality you cant beat it.

I have not used this yet.. still considering returning it.. the problem is the size of it.. i bought this for my teen to use with her digital camera.. and omg.. i knew it was not compact, but didn't realize it was giant.. my fault.. should have read description better.. :( I have ordered many items from amazon, and this is the first time that I have encountered my next problem.. the printer came in it's packaging and that is it.. no amazon box to disquise what was inside.. so fed ex pulls up and hands me part of my daughter's Christmas in front of her.. rrrr...
