I wish I could get as far as the wireless setup. After installing the print cartridges, I got an error message (C000) that refers me to the manual, but the manual doesn't do much to explain how to fix the problem beyond checking that the print head is in place. I have spent more time tonight trying (unsuccessfully) to fix this printer than I care to spend in my lifetime. I found this link [...] where several other people ran into the exact same problem, and no one has posted any way to fix it. So I have no choice but to return the item... and I'm nervous about replacing it with the same model. I had another Canon printer before and it was great, but this one worries me.

The price is very competitive for a multifunction printer with these features. Being able to print through network and WIFI by itself is enough to buy this product. So far it is working like a charm. I read some reviews before the purchase with complains about the software on CD. The reviewers suggested to download the software and drivers from website instead of using the one on CD. The version on Disk worked fine for me. I believe it is up to date now. Some reviewers also mentioned about running through the ink quickly. I have not printed many pictures but I do print lot of documents in black and white. I suggest going to printer preferences and setting the print quality to fast for B/W printing. It will save you lot of ink and there is no visible difference in quality of the prints. So far my ink is holding up well. Couple of times I ran into an issue where I could not start scan from the software on my laptop. Seems like Mp620 powers off the scanner when in power save... Based on reviews here and elsewhere (cnet, bestbuy), I purchased this Canon printer over HP and Brother wireless printers because there were inconsistent reviews on how well users could get the wireless to work for the latter two brands. The very positive reviews on the quality of color photo printer also contributed to my selection of this product. Setup worked like a charm. Canon provides 70 page setup manual that you do have to follow. There is a somewhat complex flow diagram with decision points based on whether: 1) you are setting up through USB, wired or wireless LAN; 2) whether this is an initial computer setup (in which case you have to run setup through USB) vs. additional computers; 3) which OS (Windows Vista, XP/2000, or Mac) you are using. The first time I ran through the algorithm, it seemed complicated, but I ended up setting up 2 desktops and 2 laptops in my home for this and it was a snap by the end end and I could follow the logic easily. Now it's great to be... Read more

I decided that since I primarily use laptop computers that I would upgrade my printer to a wireless LAN enabled model. Except for initial product set-up, I have always had good experiences with the Canon products so I bought the Canon MP620. After 4 hours of effort to get the wireless services to allow me to print, I gave up. What's most frustrating about this is that the set-up process walks you through a performance test to make sure you have a good connection, which the software told me that I did and then immediately after that when I attempted to print a document, it failed and has failed on every attempt since. They provide plenty of documentation and it's all useless. I tried to get support through their toll-free number, but it's closed and according to the message, I can only expect to reach them during bankers hours. I tried emailing them for support through their website and the site said I'd get an acknowledgment within 30 minutes, it's been 2.5 hours and I have recei... Read more

I am very disappointed in this printer. The set up in very complicated be sure to read the instruction manual several times before starting. The picture print quality is excellent. The included software is mediocre. Scan is not that good. The OCR is useless. The OCR software does not convert the scan to a usable text format. You cannot scan a document to MS Word. It will scan documents as a PDF. I wanted a printer that I could use for all my projects and this one falls short of my expectations. The one upside is that Amazon's return policy was easy.
