i had an old solamon shoes which r softer than the new one ( this one) i bought, I loved the older version, the new one seems too much plastic on top, made it alittle harder when u really bend your feet, but maybe after a while it will be softer, over still very light, just not as soft..

For everyday use and for light hiking there are NO shoes out there better designed and equipped than these salomons. They are comfortable enough to wear around pretty much anywhere (concrete too) and you won't get shin-splints. The gore-tex layering is excellent for light rain and even heavy rain if you get caught in it, your socks will stay dry : ) The lace-up system is a major plus as you don't have to actually tie your shoes anymore, just cinch up and go.
