The old one lasted 20 years. Can't vouch for the durability of the new cuisinart, but it is just as easy to use and gets the same good results.

I have a much smaller cuisinart that was cumbersome and could be difficult to use. This bigger one has much higher power and is much easier to use. I've used most of the different blades that came with the machine and they were easy to set up and also easy to clean

I have used the cuisinart processor for a number of years. Plastic parts eventually broke. So, about 3 months ago, I replaced the bowl, and lid pieces and the new ones weren't the same quality, and would not come apart for cleaning where they had before, though the price was incredibly expensive. (This had to be done in two steps, because each piece was priced separately) The new parts have already bent in such a way they do not work. I have decided to replace my food processor with the kitchen aid. I have found the same drop in quality in other Cuisinart products--a mini prep quickly broke, toaster, and other appliances seem to lack the quality Cuisinart was originally known for. My Kitchen Aid purchases have so far performed supremely better. I hate to have to replace my food processor after I just spent nearly $100 in parts to avoid buying a new appliance. Since I must, after spending the extra, I won't make the mistake of buying Cuisinart again.

I just donated my Cuisinart food processor to a charity after many years of fighting the safety interlock on it. I just couldn't easily get the bowl mounted on the base, the lid on and the system up and running. I had the same problem taking the bowl off of the base after I was done "processing". Last week I'd finally had it (I found myself using a small mallet to get the bowl on and off of the base and positioned over the safety lock), and ordered myself a 7 cup unit from Kitchenaid. So much easier to use; I'm sorry that I waited so long. I don't miss my Cuisinart at all.
