Toshiba Satellite L305-S5907 is a product that has a lot of good parts in it, however, the unit was sent to me ,...stops out of the 'blue' from time to time ,...and that is not normal for a solid PC.

I was really amazed with the easy set up and increased speed of this laptop. No glitches, no contact necessary with Toshiba.

In fact it is very good laptop with a lot of hard drive (although it is only 296 Gb available), it looks so nice, I compared it with Hp and Sony and L305-S5907 was cheaper than other Sony and Hp Laptops which the same features, but there is only a trouble because we all know Windows Vista has problems yet, so at the begining I tried to partition the hard drive by using the Windows Vista and I couldn't then I tried to use several free software for windows Vista to partition this unit but it was unsuccessful, so I phoned Toshiba but thy told me it is not possible to help you with this matter they also told me they can't recomend me any software for this problem, so I only could continue researching on Google and I found the Gparted that is used with Linux and I finally partitioned this drive, I guess it was so hard to make it, beside of this I found no problem with the laptop, maybe the other issue is the capacity of the hard drive, I only can see 296 Gb available. Everything else like the keyboard, the resolution, the touchpad is ok, and it looks awesome.

Okay first this is great laptop at an affordable price but Amazon does have it marked high. I switched to a mac powerbook g4 in 05 from a pc and was in the market for a new laptop but the macs are just too expensive. What I wanted on a new mac would have cost me 3 grand. I researched amazon to see what was a good value on a pc laptop and I found it in this Toshiba. I love this laptop!!!! I love Vista!!! When I compare the windows photo gallery to my macs I love the gallery in windows. The features of vista are easier to use than xp. As for the comment on this laptop getting hot it does get warm but my mac gets really warm. I have yet to use everything on my computer yet, but I will never go back to a mac. I got what I needed in a Pc for only 700 and now have more gaming options etc.

The laptop was a little larger and heavier than I thought it would be, but for the price I paid, it was a bargain. The volume control is funny since it does not stop turning when full or min. It keeps turning so you don't know if you have reached full volume. Value wise, this is a great machine and if the build quality is what Toshiba has maintained in the past, this is a great machine to own. Time will tell. The amount of memory and the size of the hard drive should keep the machine running fast and allow plenty of storage for a long time to come. The screen is very bright and readable. Keyboard is good too. This is my first experience with Vista and despite all the negatives I have heard about Vista, it seems to be a pretty good OS. Weight was the only drawback in my mind.
