I'm trying to get excited about my iPod but it just isn't happening. It seems more like an exercise in database administration than musical appreciation. I bought it to take music along on a road trip, but was discouraged by the onerous exercise of transferring the volume of music I'd require for two weeks on the highway. Besides, carrying around 400 albums is no big thrill when I want to listen to one specific record. Partly, I think its because the only time I typically listen to music with headphones is when I'm walking the dog and partly because listening to a whole album is still the point of listening to music for me. So playlists and shuffling through the database are the equivalent to listening to the radio to me (albeit without the annoying personalities and advertising) which I almost never do.There is a tactile element to music that is missing too. Holding the CD case or the record sleeve, reading the liner notes, visually scanning the collection to see what you want to hear and then withdrawing it from the shelf putting it on/in the player and pushing the buttons, they are all as much a part of the experience to me in the same way as the rituals that a wine connosieur goes through before gulping down the plonk.

The sound that comes out of the buds is quality. Its wi-fi capable. I watched Iron Man on the flight to Key West. A quick shout out to the lady who held it for me...the ipod.

I would give it more stars if I could. I love this thing, if you have been thinking about getting one and you haven't yet - then you neeed to get it. It is great for more than just music, there is more uses for it.- emails- web surfing - sending photos- playing games- typing a quick note or shopping list- marking dates on your calendar- contact list- in case oyur phone is not near you- radioyou would jus love it, i have dropped it a few times - all you need is a ggood case. believe me it is soooo worth the price. you would be as attached to it as you are now with your phone.

i've never been so happy with an electronic. i'm amazed it can do so much. i'm still learning how to play with it, but it's a great investment considering all the useful features it has.

I have been looking at the iPod Touch for some time as I have worn out my old iPod and need an update, but, since we travel a fair amount, I wanted the wireless internet access now part of this neat gadget. It does so much more than I had expected. I am not a gamer but have found apps that are useful and fun. I love having plenty of space to store photos to show to friends BUT, my one big hope is that someone will create a device or connecter that will allow me to transfer photos from my camera directly to my Touch for alternate storage.

I love it! My friend has the I-phone and pays 116.00 a month for internet and phone service and I didn't won't the monthly bill and so I bought this and can connect to the internet where there is wi-fi availible which is everywhere. I can receive email because I set up an account free and my I- touch does everything her I-phone does except for the paying of internet and phone service. I even can download movies and games. very happy!
