Grow-Ped 5

Bought one for my daughter 2 years ago (pink one). Has been fairly well abused ... even left out in the rain ... and it has held up very well. She likes it and I do too because I feel like it is much safer with the larger wheels ... much less likely to flip on a stone. The large deck is nice too. Liked it so much that I bought her a fresh one this year for Xmas (red one). Great product. They now also offer a Super Grow-Ped which apparently is a little more durable for doing tricks. Since my daughter doesn't really do that, i opted for the base model, but if you have boys that may be ramping off the curb, you might look at the Super model. Larger solid axels, higher quality steel frame, solid front bar.

Grow-Ped 5

I'm very happy with this scooter. The wheels are larger and the foot board has a higher ground clearance so it is safer than cheaper scooters. Your child is less likely to go flying if he or she hits a bump in the sidewalk. It has a hand break as well as a foot break, which is a nice option if a child gets flustered and has trouble working the foot break. Although my 4 foot tall 6 yo is large enough to use it, I think it will be even better in a couple years. The handle is not height adjustable but it does fold down. I'd say it is best for children between 4 and 5 feet. I'm 5' 2" and it is just a trifle too short for me (but I enjoy riding it anyway). I want the adult version!
