The ups and downs of a tumultuous relationship played out around drunken Christmases in New York make for one of the greatest rollicking pub songs of all time.  Bittersweet to the core.  The verse that opens with Shane McGowan singing "I coulda been someone" and Kristy McColl replies "Ya, well so could anyone" has to be one of the greatest duet lines of all time.
