My dog is a pit bull mix and chewed this up in about two days. He really liked destroying it. So i guess it could be an expensive treat if your dog is a power chewer.

I have a Great Dane that destroys every toy he has ever gotten within seconds. Usually he bites hard once and no more toy. But he has had his Extreme Kong toy for about a year now and he still chews on it every day and there is little damage. This is truely a wonderful product and great on the budget because it lasts so long.

This is coming from a perspective of the owner of 3 dogs.

Here's what I have:

Dog 1: A Jaws-of-Steel Chewer - Lab/Pit Mix (6 years)

Dog 2: A Heavy Chewer that typically only likes plush (and every other household object) - Chocolate Lab Puppy (9 months)

Dog 3: A Heavy Chewer that's picky - German Shepherd (4 years)

My results are - I didn't even bother giving this to Dog 1, because I know only the Regular Kong Extreme will survive her.

Dog 2 wouldn't touch it at first, but REALLY took to it later on. She has not been able to put a dent into it. She actually liked it. It's the first plastic/rubber/non-plush/non-expensive-household-item that she likes. She's constantly carrying it around.

Dog 3 LOVES this toy. He's picky and wont touch the other Kongs, but he will sit and chew on this for hours... and hours... and hours. I got him interested the first time with a treat in it, and now he can't get enough of it. I have to be careful with him cause he even carries it outside, I've had to go toy hunting on multiple occassions.

This is one of my favorite toys so far, and the only one in one piece still!

My puppy LOVES this toy - especially when stuffed with some treats! Keeps him busy when we are watching a movie or wanting him to be calm for a while.

Sid is a chewer and she has not managed to destroy this. she has had for awhile now. brings it in and out with her. we are pleased with this product. would buy another if this one is ever lost.
