They're a good read, and are fun to read; but I feel they had to much religious symbolism for my liking and the last book feels rushed and in some ways pointless. It's just a way to get all the previous characters back in Narnia for one last adventure. The earlier books are the best.

A clever analogy of Christ as the Lion in Narnia. It is written simply and may not be enjoyed as much by the adult reader but is a fantastic tale for all children

A wonderful book for "kids" of all ages.

Wonderful reading as a kid. . .but it doesn't age well and seems more corny as you get older. . .

Enjoyed the fantasy, even if it was religious propoganda.

Well its kind of hard to group these. First you have the really good ones like The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and such. And then you have the mediocre ones which are still okay like The Last Battle and The Silver chair, so they all balence each other out.

I don't think they should have resold them in a different order... The Magician's Nephew is boring and/or confusing if you haven't already read The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe.

This is a pretty good series of books. I read the first one in about grade 4, our teacher read it to us. We read the Lion the Witch and Wardrobe and my addiction just kind of continued from there. My favorite was The Last Battle.

My kids love these books. If you have kids they will too. My sons say, "It's the best mom!"

When I was younger I really loved these books- all of them. My favorite by far was "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", but all of the books were good. I definately plan on reading these books to my children. C.S. Lewis was brilliant.

As a child, you'll be enchanted by a lovely tale of some unlikely heroes who enter a magical world. As an adult, you'll be amazed at the parallels in this book that make it so much more than a childrens' story.

I think some of you give this series a little too much credit. It is aimed toward children, and is extremely vague, compared to some of the greater series. The story is somewhat interesting, i guess, and if you want a quick read then you should pick this series.

This series is incredible. Lewis created a world that is as enchanting and real as that created by Tolkien. For Christians, the books are even more engaging. Read "The Last Battle" and try not to be overcome at the end. It's almost impossible, unless you're a "dwarf".

Simple, excellent storytelling is only the surface of these marvelous books.

I enjoyed these books enormously as a child, and can still go back and read through them with the same wide-eyed wonder.

When I read these series all read one then I read all of them right after that, they're one of those kind of book series that get you caught up into the series and you feel like you are in your own little world. I loved the series when I read them.

Very well written and entertaining for the young, very thought provoking and entertaining for the older reader. C S Lewis uses a children's fantasy format to show his views on Chritianity. The Witch, the Lion and the Wardrobe tell the story of Christ from a different perspective and is a wonderful parable. Read these to your kids, you will both enjoy the story.

Like most people, I first read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but after that I had to finish all the rest. The Last Battle is rather depressing and not as active as I would like; my favorite one is The Silver Chair.

This series was incredible. Tough to read for kids these days, because of the vernacular and so many kids don't read a lot. But its worth the effort, and, just like in the Harry Potter books, once a kid gets used to the language use, their reading skills are really sharpened, and the increase in the speed w/which they read is phenomenal! HIGHLY recommended.

The Chronicles of Narnia are a wonderful series of books for any age group. I read them when I was young and I would read them again today.

Read them as a kid and loved the fantasy world and wonderful imagery. However, to all who have read them as a child, I highly suggest rereading them..totally new and different perspective. Kind of like walking into the old neighborhood and thinking that everything has shrunk, when it is you that has grown..Reread them!!

I read these stories as a little kid, and loved them. I never even knew that there were religious undertones to the series - someone explained that to me years later...

A classic series that I would recommend to anyone, child or adult.

This series is realy aimed at children but has been sometimes recieved criticism by much older reviewers. It is a fabulous story throughout the series, showing imagination and telling the story well enough to make the reader believe that this place could exist.

Narnia series is a classic series that I recommend highly, based on its symbolism and general entertaining qualities.
