In proportion to his country's population, he killed more than Hitler, Stalin, or even Mao. Hundreds of thousands of others were imprisoned, tortured, and maimed for life. The fortunate few were merely slaves on one of his state work farms. As evil as they come, and a true communist.

Pol Pot has to rate among the most evil men in history. Responsible for the deaths of so many of his countrymen (he killed intellectuals, the educated, and anyone who was able to contribute to society- all in the senseless attempt to create an entirely-agrarian society), this embodiment of wretchedly pure evil is still wreaking havoc from beyond Hell as the countless mines he left all over the Cambodian countryside (on the same notorious Killing Fields) still kill the innocent today. Devil Incarnate? Of course! At the very least, Pol Pot rates up there among the most bestial (and personal human disasters) of history: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Ivan the Terrible. Appropriately, this evil man hangs in effigy today by the civilized world.
