Update: I rated Roethlisberger a 4 before, because I was concerned about his recent concussion and some of his up and down play this year. However, he was great against the Chargers and Ravens, and proved that he is definitely a big-game player. Baltimore did a great job rushing on passing downs today, but Roethlisberger's elusiveness was even better. He made several big plays after avoiding the rush, and I don't think most other quarterbacks would have escaped. He also put a beautiful pass on Limas Sweed's hands, that should have put the Steelers up by another touchdown by half time. Roethlisberger is already in his second Super Bowl, and should not be doubted in the post-season. 12/30/2008 - **** Its tempting to make Roethlisberger a 5 on this list because of all the winning, both in the regular season and in the playoffs, that he has done in his young career. However, he has been inconsistent in 2008, and I'd be just a bit worried he might make a crucial mistake. He is definitely in the top tier of QB's in the League right now, and he seems to have a knack for getting things done when it matters.

I'd give him a four without the concussion.

I think he's a damn good quarterback, although not the god some of his fans think. Pittsburgh really needs to get him better protection or he's going to have one of the shortest good careers in history.

Roethlisberger has really been beaten up badly this year. That offensive line really does a poor job in pass protection, but yet he put some decent numbers this year. I wonder if he'll be suffering the ill effects of that concussion that he took on the last week of the regular season. Nevertheless, if I was Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator, I'd focus the game plan on the running game and try to take the game out of the QB's hands. You can't have 3-4 turnovers in a game and still win out, especially when you're playing against teams like Tennessee that will get turnovers against you and capitalize on them.

have never been a rothlisberger fan, he will crack with a little pressure, but the steelers defense could carry them.
