A good place to spend a few years although LSU grads-to-be are often preoccupied with what big Southern city they're going to escape to once they leave. If you like sports, beer drinking and think that hanging out with Cajuns and Rednecks constitutes a good time, EL-ESS-YOO may be for you. The faculty and administration have a superiorty complex but I guess that's typical of large universities.

A gorgeous campus with a great faculty and a gentility found only at Southern schools. I attended 20 years ago when the state of Louisiana was flush with cash and riding on a wave of oil revenues. The education I received seemed to be as good as or better than that of my classmates in graduate school (Georgetown). The only criticisms I have are that there are too many students struggling with the course work who may not need to be at a university of this caliber (blame that on the state's penchant for liberal admissions policies), which seems to drag down the overall quality of education for all. The other gripe I have is something that the school can't control...the weather is HORRIBLY hot and humid most of the year!

lsu is not the number one party school. In fact they are not in the top ten. 1. Indiana 2. Alabama 3. Clemson go to other schools and find out the rest. No programs and the school is not highly ranked.

LSUs relatively low rating as a quality institution stems from the fact(one of them), I believe, because of some it's classes having a high faculty/student ratio. Money is not all the answer either;otherwise, what explains the Univ. of Texas incredibly low rating when they were one of the first Southern Institutions to pour millions (as in hundreds of millions of dollars into their University or is their endowment over $1 billion now?), perhaps twenty to thirty years ago.

If you go to a football game in October at Tiger Stadium, you'll never, ever forget it.

I attend LSU and the there is no school like it. you have to be from the south to be able to appreciate what LSU is known for. Although we might be the "#1 party school" we still have our standards. We just know how to have fun!

It's the number one party school and it's in the fun town of Baton Rouge. It's a good school
