This is a great product. The thick gel hang on to the clog in the drain from the top to the bottom. This is a great product and it really works wonderfully. I would recommend this to every one that wants a drain that flows with out backing up.

Drano "Max" Gel drain clog remover by JohnsonDiversey really does the job of clearing out pipes when they are clogged. Every so often I get a stubborn bathtub or sink drain clog. However, after I use this product the drain works perfectly for months before I need to use it again--and I only used half the bottle at that! It's a good idea to pour just a little extra down the clogged drain in order to really get it draining fast. In addition, the manufacturer indicates on the bottle that Drano is safe on septic systems and pipes. Great! Pour maybe half a bottle down the clogged drain--it doesn't matter if the drain has standing water in it or if it's dry. I suggest that you then wait about 15 minutes or so and then flush the drain with hot water for a minute or two. In fact, instead of hot water boil a pot of water and then pour THAT down the drain for an even better result. For some reason the very hot water helps Drano to get rid of anything like hair or soap scum that may have been clogging your drain. I avoid using this product with ammonia, toilet cleaning products or too many other substances at all ever for that matter. This is not to be used in any attempt to unclog a toilet, either. If you still have any questions that can't be answered by reading the directions on the back of the bottle, Drano has both a web site and a toll free number so you can contact the manufacturers of this product. If you have questions, contact the manufacturer before you use this product. This helps you avoid using Drano the wrong way. Overall, Drano Max Gel does a very good job of unclogging pipes. It should do just as good a job for you as it did for me; or it might not work quite as well if your clogged drain is much, much worse than the ones I've had in my sinks or bathtubs. It's a cheap alternative to calling a plumber, to say the least. Pick some up and see it work for your clogged drains!
