This is a very good product. This works wonderfully on hard clogs, grease and hair. I used it in my bathroom and before I knew it I had a smooth draining shower.

Liquid-Plumber Professional Strength Gel Clog Remover by Clorox really does the job of clearing out pipes when they are clogged. Unlike the other reviewer whose review is also on this page, my sink clogs were cleared up for a few months before I needed to use it again--and I only used a little more than half the bottle at that! I do agree with the other reviewer on this page that it is best to pour a little extra down the clogged drain in order to really get it draining fast. In addition, the manufacturer indicates on the bottle that Liquid-Plumber is safe even on old pipes. That's a plus!

Pour maybe half a bottle down the clogged drain--it doesn't matter if the drain has standing water in it or if it's dry. I suggest that you then wait about 15 minutes or so and then flush the drain with hot water for a minute or two. For some reason the hot water helps the Liquid-Plumber to get rid of anything like hair or soap scum that may have been clogging your drain.

As the label says, don't use this product with ammonia, toilet cleaning products or too many other substances at all ever for that matter. This is not to be used in any attempt to unclog a toilet, either. If you still have any questions that are not answered by Amazon reviews or by reading the directions on the back of the bottle, Liquid-Plumber has both a web site and a toll free number clearly indicated on the back of the bottle. This way you can contact the manufacturer to ask questions before you use this product. This helps you avoid using Liquid-Plumber the wrong way--great customer relations!

Overall, this product does a good job of unclogging pipes. It may do just as good a job as it did for me or it might not do quite as well if the clogged drain is much, much worse than the ones I've had in my sinks. It's a cheap alternative to calling a plumber, to say the least. Pick some up and see it work for your clogged drains!

The local convenience store only carries Liquid Plumber brand clog remover gel and recently, when I noticed that whether or not we wanted to, the tub was filling with water whenever we used it, I purchased some to deal with the issue.

I never follow directions so rather than using 1/2 a bottle, I used the whole thing and it did seem to clear up the clogged drain rather effectively; however, it didn't take long before it was clogged up again so perhaps it just moved the clog rather than dealing with it.

I did notice a significant improvement directly after I used it. The water was draining FAST - much faster than the last time when I'd used Drano but then I'd only used half a bottle.

So, I'm not sure how I feel about this because the drain did seem to clear quickly and effectively but the fact that our tub became clogged again so quickly could mean that the clog wasn't removed but simply moved.

But the effects of this weren't any worse than using Drano, really, so go ahead and give it a try.
