If we have any luck it will be made by Richard Attenborough instead of Ridley Scott and it will star James McAvoy instead of Russell Crowe.

Has the potential to be a great movie, as would a biopic of William the Conqueror.  But based on the Hollywood track record, Charlemagne would likely be turned into some modern day angst ridden yuppie.

This  could be a really good movie. But if we look at previous historically based movies such as Braveheart, The Patriot, any of several movies about the Alamo, it is likely that the Charlemagne movie would be more story than history.

Oh it's a good idea for a film all right - there are tons of great movie ideas from history. Unfortunately, the suits will put out more brain insulting trash, y' know?
