Great University with strong academics consistenly rated near the top for a variety of majors. Traditions are sacred at A&M and result in a much stronger bond and relationship with classmates. This is a more conservative University with a strong support for the military and personal freedoms. The negative ratings being given are predominantly coming from blue staters, liberals, and rivals at the Univeristy of Texas. The fact that they are even here rating A&M speaks highly as to the impact that Texas A&M graduates and students make regionally and around the world.

Gig 'Em, Aggies. I did not attend this University, but 2 of my cousins did. I attended 2 games in College Station. Wild times. The ROTC is good for student morale and should be admired, not scorned.

Texas A&M has extremely good faculty in Engineering. It is a pretty happening place. There are students from diverse cultural backgrounds, which helps to know much more than just cramming. I am surprised to see the harsh comments abt. the University. College Station although conservative, but a very peaceful place, perfect for research environment.

Too many uninformed ratings on this page or maybe they all went to T.U. Great engineering and vet schools. Best military program other than the Academies. Great Traditions and School Sprit. Can't beat the Chicken. Fightin Aggie Class 2007

I'm surprised to see some of the negative comments here. Yes, A&M is a conservative university in a suburban/rural setting. This is a plus for some, a minus for others; to each his own. A&M is a leading research university, easily ranking within the top fifty American research institutions. As a state school, its teaching mission extends to the entire State of Texas and beyond--that is, A&M is interested in educating the populace, not just those with 1500+ on their SAT. Its undergraduate population is well known regionally for school spirit and pride. As a school with a technical background (A&M used to stand for Agricultural & Mechanical) its traditional strengths are in engineering and agriculture. However, A&M has enjoyed success in other fields since becoming a general research university. Regardless of your undergraduate field of study, at A&M you can go as far as your dedication, imagination, and raw talent will carry you. Graduate education is a bit more narrow, but it is a priority of the university to grow and distinguish the graduate programs. Finally, there is the Corps of Cadets, a storied military institution that takes 18 year olds and makes them into the leaders of tomorrow. In sum, Texas A&M is an incredible institution. With 45,000 students, it literally offers something for everyone. I immensely enjoyed my undergraduate education there and cannot think of any comparable institution. Whoop!

To begin with, it's located in that crappy third world country that calls itself "Texas." Secondly, Aggies are weak-minded, brainwashed dupes whose worldview is posited back in 1953. Thirdly, this diploma mill only has a few decent academic departments. Finally, any school where students are killed for the sake of something so trivial and retarded as a football bonfire, and student and alumni sentiment runs counter to discontinuing this practice in the name of public safety, has to be the biggest jackass institution imaginable. Rah rah programmed zombies wanting to maintain their "proud tradition" of mutant jock worship as their dead, and apparently expendable former collegues are taking dirt naps as a result of an unsafe, ecologically irresponsible and totally unnecessary public spectacle that is extremely suggestive of Klu Klux Klan cross burnings. What a sick joke. The university, its students, staff and alumni ought to be deathly ashamed of themselves. But they're not, which speaks volumes about what douchewads they are down in the Lone Star State.

Mass hypnosis at its strongest. School spirit in the form of brainwashing. And they're worse as they get older.

One of the few schools in America where people actually graduate more stupid than they were when they entered. Just look at the grammar and spelling of the morons who rated this glorified elementary school a five! To top it off, the town this "college" is located in (College Station) is like Jonestown. Literally everywhere you look are the ATM signs and businesses pandering for "Aggiebucks." If you want the same experience of going to Texas A&M for a lot less money, just give yourself a lobotomy and join a cult...

Challenging engineering program. (Expect to work your tail off). SUPER freindly student body, faculty and nice community. The tution was suprisingly affordable for in state students. More school spirit and pride than any other university in America!
