Went there once, it smelled horrible. Everyone was very obese and you have a good chance of getting mugged if you leave the campus. I didnt see one person with a full set of teeth

I visited the campus in Tuscaloosa just yesterday. What an eye-opening experience! I had never been there, and was astonished to see how large the campus is. They even have multi-level parking, which only costs a dollar. The students impressed me. They seemed generally upbeat & well-adjusted, and so many of them wore shirts with the school name on them. For years, I had some misconceptions about the University of Alabama. Now I'm glad to see that I was mistaken.

A strong academic program (the business, communication, and law schools are consistently ranked with the best in the nation) is complemented by a an excellent quality of student life. The campus is one of the most beautiful I've seen...beautiful, historic buildings with a large shaded quadrangle at the campus core. The current administration is succeeding in attracting talented faculty members. In the fall of 2005, all freshman (with some exceptions) will be required to live on campus, strengthening an already strong campus community. Six new living/learning centers (or dorms) are being built to accommodate not only the increase in freshman living on campus, but the increase in student enrollment overall. And of course, if you're a football fan it would be hard to find a school with more team spirit than the home of the Crimson Tide. The University of Alabama is in the top tier of public colleges in America, and should easily rank within the top ten schools in the Southeast (public or private).

Like a lot of southern colleges, it doesn't always get the credit deserves.

Great academics and athelics goes hand in hand. A rising Law school which is on of the best in country. More usa today all acdemic scholars than any other university. The programs offered and the real college campus experience. What more can I say.

One of the crappiest state universities in the country. And that's saying alot, considering how lame most state universities are. This is another public institution that should close down because the taxpayers are getting rooked for supporting this dump.

It's got a good communications and business school. It's way too low ranked
