Lost at E Minor continues to be one of my favorite inspiration blogs, but it's possible that they've over-diversified. What started out as a concise look at brilliant examples of print and interactive design now includes everything from architecture to music to film. Additionally, in an effort to increase engagement (i imagine), they seem to have lowered their standards for what gets written up. This means there's a lot of overlap from other blogs I already view. This is not a unique trap they've fallen into, unfortunately, but I look forward to a day when uniqueness of content over volume is rewarded more in the blogosphere. While I enjoy being exposed to a broad variety of things in all of these areas, I have other blogs that I subscribe to that cover these other topics quite nicely. The end result for Lost at E Minor is that I'm overwhelmed by content, and I ride the J key (google reader's shortcut for viewing the next article) rather ruthlessly. I pause briefly enough to check the "mark unread" box on something that catches my eye in the Lost at E Minor feed, and then continue on flipping through the entire feed filtering out things I'm not interested in before going back to actually read the posts about stuff that looks interesting.A summary of this process: HIGHLY inefficient :)If Lost at E Minor splits their feed I'd be quite pleased. Otherwise I'll slowly build up my "inspiration" RSS folder with other feeds and Lost at E Minor will be doomed for the "mark all as read" button more often than it is already.
