Excellent School.

I agree, U of M is Over-rated. The only thing the university cares about is money, I am sure every student that goes there has had a professor that doesn't speak English, mostly because the university hired them because they came with million in grant money the university could "use". I thought I was spending $15,000 a year to be taught something... and not how to speak another language. If you are considering this university... Don't. There are so many other, better, university's out there (take it from a student that has attended a few other schools). I hope this message reaches students before they consider applying here!

My daughter attends U of M (but I pay ~ HAHA ~ The jokes on me).  She is a Political Science major and UNFORTUNATELY if you are a Republican, you will fail.  Instructors do not "condone THAT behavior or thinking".  Talk about being BIASED!!!  Any other major ~ you may be OK.

I cannot imagine a bigger waste of four years. Expensive, but no individual attention due to the huge classes. Ann Arbor is a vastly overrated little town and the only city of significance nearby is Detroit. It's unaccepting liberalism is offensive to any fair-minded independent thinking individual.

I'm rewriting my review, I have many bitter memories of my horrible four years here. Where do I start, the snotty people, the lack of hellos and good mornings, the incredible overestimation everyone had of their intelligence, the North Face jackets, the wacky far-left liberalism...whatever the case, I hated the people there. They gave you reasons every time you took the bus or walked onto campus, almost everyone here is suffering from some mental disorder of some kind. It's definitely not as bad as NYC, but I can say it comes very close. The alleged intellectual advantage of this university is nil when you factor in the people. People here just aren't human. I don't know if it's the extreme wealth or the dissociation from reality, but it really turns people off!

The University of Michigan is an institution of anti-white racism and anti-male sexism. The school engages in an unusually high amount of discrimination against whites in hiring and promotions, and they give large amounts of money to certain groups for their racist and sexist agendas. In the classroom, racism is a part of nearly every classroom lecture. Professors have thorough and comprehensive ways of making white people think less of themselves. Every part of the educational experience: readings, lectures, tests, small group discussions, are neatly dovetailed into a matrix of racist and sexist themes. Students are required to bring information from all these sources together, making the same arguments in long essay-type midterms and final exams. It is a very effective form of indoctrination. The University of Michigan allocates large amounts of money to programs which are off-limits to whites. The Comprehensive Studies Program is one example. This is a program of special courses, mentoring, and academic advising which is almost entirely for blacks. University of Michigan professors engage in egregious research strategies and racial bias, depicting whites and males in the worst ways possible, and dispensing their bias to the larger society by every means possible. The ways in which professors re-write history are limitless and the abuses are extreme. There is no oversight over their actions and virtually no academic accountability whatsoever. Professors promote their agendas in classroom lectures with impassioned authority and self-righteousness. Students are graded unfairly if they dont present themselves as liberals and embrace left-wing topics and viewpoints in their papers. The University of Michigan is a degenerate institution in which academic professionalism and scholarship are ignored to advance a racist and sexist agenda.

The University of Michigan is arguably THE World's greatest academic university in the world; with no apologies to Oxford or cambridge. Everything from its TOP 5 across the board faculty to its bright students excellebnt campus and unparrelleled physical plant and preminent diversity places this University at the TOP of the list and neither Berkeley nor the Ivy schools across the board BOTH undergrad or grad can top Michigan's dominant academics.

Campus is too spread out, and the school is too liberal.

Michigan is quite possibly the worst school in the United States and is inhabited by French Democrats. Michigan football is a disgrace to the entire nation and they will never beat the Buckeyes again!

Coming from the South, the faces that pass you by on the sidewalks can seem as cold as the Canadian winds. Definitely a strong New York influence. Still, AA's a great town, the education is first-rate, and there's always a lot going on. The graduate programs are all outstanding. Outside of those who know it, it's probably one of the most underrated schools in the nation's top tier.

I like Ann Arbor. . .good facilities. . .the school has almost everything you could possibly want. Had a good time when I visited there. . .can't give a detailed opinion b/c I didn't spend a whole lot of time there while lecturing but had a good experience.

My mom went to school there & she says its a good place to go. I met one of her teachers once, & he seemed really cool. Also, I was born, & I grew up in Ann Arbor soo, thats another reason I like it. In my opinion, they also have one of the best college football teams! :)

Diversity, great education, great social opportunities and athletics like no other on a full sclae basis.

I graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992, and I just visited Ann Arbor for the first time in years. It made me incredibly nostalgic. My four years at Michigan couldn't have been more enjoyable, and I even managed to learn something while I was there. Nothing compares to the experience of football Saturdays - morning parties before the game, walking down State Street with thousands of other fans, and walking through the tunnel into the stadium for the first time.
