If I could have a do-over in life I'd consider Madison, WI for my undergraduate experience. . .U. of Wisconsin is located in Madison- easily one of the smartest places I've ever visited (people actually took their books to read when they had coffee, breakfast, et.al.)U. of W. has everything- decent undergraduate academics and strong graduate programs. Athletics, partying, and socializing are all there for the experience if one chooses. I've always felt that U of W gets overlooked for great university experiences in America.

Great school, best education system around. Tough to get into and tough to stay in, much like the ivy league schools

Liberal to the point of absurdness. Got morals? Sorry, won't fit in here. Academics are unquestionably good, the ratings are there to prove it. If, however, you view success as more than just statistics, you may want to consider a better school in order to better youself. I'm feel very fortunate to recieve a double major in Nuclear Engineering and Mathematics, but this place is a vast, immoral, Godless wasteland of drunkness and borderline prostitution. I'm thrilled to be leaving for grad school next year.

The Economist magazine rates UW one of the top ten universities in the world. Don't expect to get in anyore unless you have earned it.

don't slander if you flunked out or couldn't get in. madison was amazing for all the reasons stated below. cold beer, hot girls, good sports and academics, what else do you need

3.5 is not on the list.

Ignore the low ratings - they didn't attend UW or they were complete failures when they did (maybe they didn't like the fact that classroom courses took attendance - even on FRIDAY!). Only one of seven pass the CPA on the first try...UW was my ticket into that select 14 or 15%. Don't expect to come here JUST to party if you also expect to graduate!

Good school, good enough for me to get into Harvard for grad school next year which was nice. Fun times these past 4 years.
TheDesertFox 07/11/2004
2.52? Haha, someone is angry they couldn't get in! Rated the 6th best Public University in the US behind Michigan, San Francisco, Virgina, and some others. Go back to your crappy college, Minnesotans.

Lots of stuck-up kids from Chicago who couldn't get into better schools. I went there one year and hated it. Really mediocre classes and professors.

When you combine education, athletics, nightlife and overall atmosphere, very few can compete with Wisconsin. A US News and World Report Top 10 Public University year in and year out, football and basketball teams that are almost always in the Top 25 in the Nation, Sports Illustrated's #1 College Town, Playboy's #7 Party School, Money Magazine's #1 City to live in (Madison) - come on, who can claim that kind of resume? Wisconsin is a very legit school from top to bottom!

A great school with a lot to do, in a first-rate small city. Colder than Moscow, but I hope you don't choose your school for the weather.

Has a first tier Architecture program..... excellent ratings....

The UW is a great school in every way--academics, sports, campus, city, and social life. The best 4 or 5 years of your life.

This must be a joke, right?
Conehead 12/27/2001
This school is a filthy toilet!
lovejoy 12/27/2001
Those giving UW the low ratings are jealous trolls from Minnesota. Madison is the best all around school in the Big 10.

My brother transferred out of the UWisconsin after his freshman year. He hated it! He was worried that if he went there too long, he would forget that there are minorities in this world! Seriously, Wisconsin is 99.9% white.

Wisconsin rocks. Just rememer to study, beacause there is much fun to be had, school supports it's teams very well.

The town of Madison is a little too Pfish-and-sandles for my tastes, but I will say that I've never had more fun at a college football game than at U-Wisconsin. And this was back when their team sucked. They definitely know how to have a good time at this school...
