Overrated. He is NOT a ballplayer. A ballplayer PLAYS defense, too. He only played the field for 6 seasons...granted, they were big seasons in his career (92-97), but overall, he is a jerk and horrible for the sport. He didn't deserve a ring with the 2005 White Sox. He better not make it to the HoF. There are so many other guys that are not in AND are more deserving.

Only a handful of players in MLB history have homered, driven in runs, and hit for average with the type of walk totals this guy puts up. One of the most threatening offensive players in MLB history.

Easily going to the hall of fame and a top 5 HITTER of all time when he was in his prime!

Frank Thomas, aka the Big Hurt, is a class act all the way. He has played his entire career with one team, something of which one does not see often in these days, and could have demanded more money than what he received when he was at the peak of his game. Yes, he is not a great defensive 1st baseman, but his hitting statistics speak for themselves, despite a decline in the last few seasons.

It's a shame about what's happened to Big Frank. He was one of my favorite players in the mid-90s

Frank Thomas is in my mind walking into the hall of fame. The bottom line is that he is a superior offensive player. He has dominated the league in walks, RBIs, home runs, and most amazingly average. His credentials are beyond enough to earn a spot in the hall.

Frank Thomas is Exhibit A on why the public thinks that athletes are spoiled. Here is a guy who signed one of the richest contracts in baseball only a few years ago. He certainly deserved it at the time. Now, not even half-way through the contract, he is saying that his nearly $10M contract just doesn't sit well in his stomach. After all, with guys like ARod, Jeter, and Manny signing huge deals, he deserves to have his contract renegotiated. Meanwhile, what about the two years (1998-1999) where Thomas had off years? The White Sox didn't go to him looking to renegotiate his contract. How about you just sit down and shut up, Frank? UPDATE: Hey Frank, now that you're injured and out for the year, how about renogiating your deal?
