love it. fresh meats and pastas. i wish i lived closer to this spot or I'd go at least twice a week to get some good ish! The staff are extremely friendly here as well, making the experience that much more enjoyable. simply lovely. Also, a bit moderate price wise, but def worth it to splurge once in a while.

This is an amazing little store. Lucca Ravioli feels like a place you wander into off of a piazza in Siena. It's legit.

They have a fantastic little deli with all different kinds of salami, fresh pizza ($5 for half a pan), fish like bacalo, meatballs, sausage, and amazing, fresh pesto.

I go there for lunch - the pizza deal is the best in the city - $5 for a pie that will fill two full meals. The pesto and proscuito sandwich is fantastic also.

Walking into Lucca instantly transports me back to the time I spent living in Rome. Between the hand-painted signs and the clutter of delicious products mostly imported from Italy or homemade on-site and a few staff members that speak Italian, this store is a gem in the heart of the Mission. There's a real Italian Neighborhood feel, with the addition of a little more queue organization than is evident in markets in Rome (take a number when you go in :P).

Their lunch options range from their extraordinarily popular pizza (As Roman-style as it comes. This means a thicker, more bread-like crust with a moderate amount of sauce and cheese and toppings baked in rectangular sheets) to amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing sandwiches of any of their meat and cheese (try prosciutto with fresh mozzarella and pesto on soft sourdough...my fave) to specialty items that change daily (the artichoke frittata is delish).

Now, I must disclose that I haven't actually tried their ravioli or homemade pasta yet, namely because I don't know how well it would transport via bike or Muni, but expect an update as soon as I do! It looks fantastic, it's made fresh daily and their selection is impressive.

Prices are a mixed bag here. The pizza is insanely cheap, the sandwiches are on par for the Mission at around $6-7, and the grocery items are all over the map. I will note that for the quality of their deli meat and cheese, the prices seem extraordinarily reasonable for these items.

A few helpful notes. There is no place to sit (hell there's barely room to browse when it's crowded). Pick up some sandwiches and wine and head over to Dolores Park on a sunny day for an instant picnic, but not on sundays when they are closed. :(

I have found here really good cold meats, cheeses, and tons of other Mediterranean imported products (olives, olive oil, sauces...). For those products it's a bit expensive, so I go there once in a while to treat myself.

They make fresh pizza every morning. Three types (Sausages, Mushrooms or Cheese) and you buy it by a pan of half a pan for $10 and $5.50 respectively. They also prepare sandwiches with any of the products they have in the counter...also at a good price.

The guys there have a really friendly attitude and are willing to help you.

I give them 4 stars because they don't have a larger assortment of pizzas
