Well-balanced school (technical + soft skills) with great weather! Grads tend to be a little low on team skills, but good problem solving skills.

As an alum, I'm biased. The US World and Business Week ratings are bogus. Anyone who applies to business schools knows that Stanford is the hardest school to get into. Then Harvard. These were the only two schools I applied to. Going anywhere else wasn't worth it in my mind.

Very small and selective.

Any school that has a 100% graduating athletic program is tops in my book. Way to emphasize education before sports and succeed in both. Wish I went there.

Good tech school!

A top-ranked graduate business school and also one of the very hardest to get into. Grads have enjoyed some of the highest starting salaries as well. According to surveys, some students have been frustrated with the core teaching and administration. However, students praise the teamwork-oriented environment and network to the business world. The campus is located near Silicon Valley, in sunny California.

How could any institution of higher learning not be great?

Way too lax to be a real educational experience.

I was here for 14 year and it was ok.

Some great staff and students but largely overrated - I found that many peers basically expected to become billionaires and once they realised they might have to actually create a working business to do so were almost offended by the idea! Hopefully it will find its feet again soon becuase it should and could be much better than it is.

Student body is small. West Coast is far from wall street. Hate start ups!

How lucky is this school to be located in such a technology oriented part of the world? Actually, "luck" is probably not the right way to describe it. Stanford and Silicon Valley have evolved together - with Stanford providing the area's companies with bright talented employees, and companies providing the MBA program with a wealth of research material, applicants, and substantial donations. This give and take relationship with Silicon Valley's technology companies makes Stanford's Business Program the most important and influential in the world.

If you want a management position in the Internet economy, there's no question in my mind that Stanford is the right place to go for your MBA. In terms of connections and clout, it can give you a big advantage. I've heard VC-types refer to it as "THE" business school, as if it's really the only one that counts.

Simply an overall great experience that boarden my perspective. For one that was weary of just getting my ticket punched, the GSB surpassed all my expectations. With 35 startups coming out of my class, its hard to find a comparable institution that has had as big a hand in shaping the direction of it's students.
