I've ordered from 1-800-Flowers a few times and I've never had any problems. They've always gotten my order right, and I always get great responses from the people I send flowers to (my girlfriend =) ) I would definitely recommend them for sending flowers to someone for any occasion. They're also actually having a pretty cool the photo contest called "Fields of the World." They've got a couple good prizes, but I think the coolest part is how you can get a 15% discount from their online store just for entering. You can enter here: http://1800flowers.eprize.net/fieldsoftheworld/

I had just one experience with them last year on Mother's Day. Since I'm ordering for 2 mothers--my adoptive mother and my birth mother--- I placed the order a week in advance of Mother's Day, specifying the day it should be delivered (Mother's Day or the day before Mother's Day). The phone operator I spoke with, who was very polite and agreeable, said this could be done, no problem. Was there a problem? Of course there was. The one order for my birth mother arrived when it was supposed to, and she was very happy. The order for my adoptive mother arrived 1 day after I had phoned it in, and she was very happy, but I wasn't particularly. It might not have bothered me as much if I hadn't paid as much money as I did, but this is not a cheap service. Suffice it to say that this year, I bought my flowers at a walk-in florist, not over the phone. Never again over the phone, or the internet, or whatever.

I have had good experiences with them in the past, but they did not deliver my order on time this last Mother's Day. What perplexes me is that I received both "order placed" and "delivery confirmation" e-mails, yet not only was the order not delivered but they hadn't even placed the order. Also, even though they say they have a cut-off time to avoid taking more orders than can be delivered, the customer service rep told me that there is a 30-minute lag time between the cut-off time and the time the local vendors are actually notified. Why they don't build in safeguards against this, especially for peak periods, is beyond me.

SUMMARY: One of the worst experiences with a vendor from which I have purchased a product - absolutely terrible. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! PROS: It is easy to place an order using the website (anyone can just take orders, but the most important thing is to actually deliver them!) CONS: They don't deliver what you order and if they do, it's not on time, no one answers the phone when you call, and no one answers your e-mails when you need help. This may sound exaggerated, but it is not! After waiting nearly two weeks for a response regarding an order that was not delivered, I had to e-mail them again (because no one answers the phone when you call) and finally got a brief e-mail stating that my order was not shipped, they no longer had the item in stock and that they would credit my account. Thanks for the heads up 1-800-FLOWERS - I guess I was supposed to assume that you were incompetent and I would not get what I paid for.

I also placed an order with 1-800-FLOWERS for Valentine's Day and nothing was delivered. I placed my order a week in advance thinking this would help get them delivered on time. I have been trying to contact 1-800-FLOWERS through customer service and I keep getting a message stating that they need to disconnect me because of the call load. Now I just got an email stating that my order has been arranged and will be shipping. There is nobody even at the delivery location today and they were supposed to be delivered on Valentine's Day. I too will NEVER order from 1-800-FLOWERS again.

1-800-FLOWERS IS THE WORST FLORIST. I ordered some flowers for delivery on Valentines Day. The local florist in San Francisco screwed up the order. The time was around 12:00pm. They delivered the wrong flowers. I refused signing for the flowers and called the local 1-800-Flowers' affiliate "L.S.C." The driver who delivered the flower gave me the phone number and name to talked to. I got connected with someone by the name of Debra. She pretended to be apologetic and promised to send the right flowers. I was stupid enough to think that she would follow through her promise to her customers. However, I was waiting until 6:00PM and no one showed up. I called L.S.C. again and talked to Debra. Her tone completely changed. She said she did not remember any of the conversation in the afternoon. She then blamed everything on 1-800-flowers. She said that they are the one who screwed up the order. She refused to do anything. She told me to "call those guys" and what she meant was 1-800-flowers. She was extremely rude to me and I asked her the name of her company and the address. She refused to tell me. She said, "I am not going to tell you. I am going to hang up. You talk to those guys." I then called 1-800-flowers. The phone rep. tried to contact L.S.C. but they did not want to do anything. I was very sad that I could not get my girlfriend flowers on Valentines Day....thanks to 1-800-flowers. I tried asking the rep. for a refund. She said that she must confirm with the local florist which is L.S.C. again. At this point, I really don't care about it. I will charge back the entire amount and bring this to court. I have a black and white confirmation from 1-800-flowers stating what the product is and when it would be delivered. Let see how they deny this in court or how they can point fingers again. ---DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE GUYS.---

I have never had a good experience with them. They sent my floral arrangement to a party the day after the party. WHen I called to complain they could really care less. In fact, the person I spoke with told me they don't guarantee on time delivery. I just received flowers from a client of mine and had to throw out 3 out of 12 roses now most of them are wilted after 4 days. It's just not worth it to buy from them.

The reason why this place sucks so badly is because the affiliates they use (florists they contract with) aren't screened properly, and so many unreputable businesses who could care less about their good name sign up for the program. In short - it is a breeding ground for incompetency and "spit on customers" attitude. Needless to say, my today's order for MOther's Day was not delivered, and I am still on hold with the company 35 minutes later!

Ordered flowers weeks in advanced. Flowers was not delivered on time, they were deliverred 4 days later than scheduled, receipient is no longer on premise to receive flowers. Vendor refused to issue me a refund.

I would give this zero stars if possible... I ordered a week in advance for this past Valentine's Day for a tulip arrangement to be delivered to my fiance. Valentine's Day came and went and my fiance did not receive her flowers. I attempted to contact 1-800-FLOWERS to see what the hold up was... I called, and was disconnected, called back, and put on hold forever and then was disconnected again. It was impossible to get ahold of a live person and when I finally did, I felt like I was bothering them. No friendliness or helpfulness about them. She curtly told me that I needed to call another number. I tried calling the next number, but was again put on hold and disconnected several times. I finally reached a live person after having spent almost an hour getting thru to someone, and she rudely informed me they were extremely busy and my fiance would receive her flowers the next day. The next day came and went, lo and behold, my fiance didn't received her flowers. After going thru the leaps and bounds to reach someone again...put on hold; disconnected... I finally reached a nice guy who acted like he wanted to help. He actually apologized for the inconvenience and even went as far as to call my fiance to apologize. He pulled up the order and said there was no reason why the flowers shouldn't have been delivered since they were ordered well in advance. He then called me back to report that he had switched the delivery service and my fiance should get her flowers the following day. So Feb 16th come around, two days after Valentine's Day, and fiance didn't get the flowers once again. The 1-800-FLOWERS rep (the nice guy) called me back to see if things went accordingly...I reported they hadn't. My fiance even went as far to call to tell them just to cancel the order and refund my money. Finally after 3 days, the flowers arrived at my fiance's office... The 1-800-FLOWERS rep told me they would refund purchase and give me credits to use their service again. I understand they contract florists out to do their deliveries across the country, but this was ridiculous! I also understand the Valentine's Day is an extremely busy time for all florists, but this was horrible! I'm not a hard person to please, and I can understand even if the flowers were delivered a day late, but this was too crazy. The service just left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never use them again. Even though the rep was really cool and apologized (only apology I received), I would recommend everyone to stay away from them. Guess that's what I get for not going w/ my local florist who knows my name and actually cares...

Besides assisting me in selecting the perfect gift for my grandmother, they sent it on time!! More than i can say about Proflowers, or FTD who send dead flowers and broken vases!
consideritsold 12/07/2003
The screwed up my order last year and forgot to send my brother his birthday flowers. They did give a credit but it is the last time I will use their service.
seggelink 11/11/2002
They should call it 1-800-mess up your order! They will generously offer coupons and vouchers and partial credits when they make a mistake (at least they own their mistakes), but wouldn't it be easier for them to just get the orders right to begin with? I've used them twice and both time my orders were messed up.

Yeah, this is the best site for false advertising and frozen flowers. My husband bought me some tulips, and they arrived promply--frozen solid. He was confused that they arrived in a box, since the photo showed them in a vase. I guess he should have read the fine print, but a company as large as this one should watch it's deceptive practices, or they may get the "cold" shoulder from consumers like me, and my husband!

Call me old-fashioned but there is soemthing special about hand picking the bouquet you send to someone. A flower shop is a wonderful place to go, the smells, the textures of the flower petals, it's a wonderful experience you can't get on a web page.
cynetix 01/11/2001
Despite its name and reputation, this site was unable to deliver flowers close to Valentine's Day last year even though other companies could. They had a supply issue that they didn't anticipate, I guess.

1-800-flowers is a great web site. The web pages are user friendly, interesting to look at and nice too. The specials that they run via Internet are hot. They don't just do price mark downs from inflated prices, the specials really are bargins. I like being able to order flowers this way because of the convenience and the guaranteed satisfaction as well as the option to phone in my credit card number.
jessicka 12/16/2000
It's a great way to send flowers to anybody in the world. You can see what you're ordering and choose what you want.
Divag 12/15/2000
I love 1-800-Flowers because I buy flowers so often for my friends and family members it's nice to know I don't have to leave my home to pick them out personally.

Very helpful. Straight forward and honest. Good selections. Good customer service. The people on the phone are very helpful. They are honest, which is very important and hard to find today. The website has some really good selections and I would recommend this site to anyone.

I like how this websites shows you a preview of the flowers. They gave suggestions for what occasions you'll need it. Very beautiful pictures.

This service makes the most sense when you want a fast delivery. My girlfriend really liked the service they offered and so do I.

1-800 Flowres is really easy to find and use and pretty cheap. Their delivery is great.

A good service, but high in price. It's too steep to use on any kind of regular basis.
guan8363et 07/09/2000
It needs to have icons were you can see the image. The web page is okay, but they should have more samples.

I ordered from 1-800-flowers and they lost my order but had excellent customer care to make up for their mistake.
thor485om 01/05/2000
The site isn't the easiest to use if you aren't sure what you want. Also the pictures aren't big enough to really see what you are ordering. But if you are just looking for a quick, simple gift of flowers, it is a good shopping site.
magellan 11/22/1999
My experience has been mixed with this site. The first time I went on, it took me 10 minutes just to figure out how to register. More recently I had a better experience, though the prices seem pretty steep. Should it really cost $35 for 6 roses?
HPLU489OM 10/29/1999
Their prices are not reasonable and not competitive. Customer service Rep. is not friendly sometimes.
GAZ166OM 10/26/1999
I've used this service many times, and I've always been happy with the results.
