I ordered a fossil watch on buy.com, and after they oh so conveniently debited my account for the watch.... I recieved an email about 5 days later saying that the order was cancelled..... Still waiting for them to refund me..... They sure can take the money alot quicker than they are willing to refund it..... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE!!!!

I ordered a monitor about 2 months ago. I received a refurbished monitor instead. After several days of trying to reach their customer service via email (they don't have a phone number published) I finally managed to speak to a life person (800-800-0800) and get an RMA number. After several weeks for shiping/processing I got a replacement back - it was again a refurbished monitor!! I called them up which resulted in another RMA number. This time I am going to request my money back and never deal with this store again.

don't buy anything from Buy.com, I have ordered IPOD 150$ worth and i didn't received the package at all, got this package through the fedex with out signature required, fedex says that they have delivered, but I didn't get this package at all and finally Buy.com is not responsible for this, they have denied my claim, There is no guarantee that you will get your package. caution with BUY.com

Never buy product from this company. I ordered a product 10 days back still in my status it was showing that the product is sent to ware hose. and when i asked those people are saying that the item is out of stock while i ordered . the fact is that when i placed my order the status is instock. The funny thing is that, they will send the same replays for our enquiry. if we inquired more than twice they will not respond at all. They don,t even have service to talk to them , because they don,t want to take the risk from the customers. NEVER BUY A PRODUCT FROM THIS STORE, REMEMBER THE WORST CUSTOMER CARE CENTER THAT IT PROCESSES.

If they put a small percentage of the amount they paid for the domain name into their support i wouldn't be writing this. They sent the wrong item (though, admittedly, to a clerk it wouldn't seem a large difference) then, when it was sent back and i attempted to cancel the order they responded with a bewildering series of one-way emails (you can't reply directly.. you have to go to their www site to respond) asking for information that was in the response they had just mirrored back. The worst customer service i've experienced from an online vendor.. certainly compared to ebay or amazon.

Buy.com is an absolutely horrible company. They sent me a dead out of the box MP3 player, supposedly 'reconditioned' and re-inspected. REALLY? The headphone jack was broken upon arrival. I immediately called their customer service (so to speak) and was non-chalantly told to take it up with some warranty company they use. Warranty? It was broken when they put it in the box to send to me.

A month after I sent the thing back in at my own $7.70 expense, I've heard nothing and can't even get anyone to respond to my email.

Buy.com should change their name "rip off.com" email you every day, selling defective product, use open box s an excuse not to issue return....bad, bad, bad very bad. Consumer be aware, this is call rip off.com. Be aware, I think they are selling a lots of refurbished products so they can get ride of a lot of junks and refused to take the defective products back. It is a SCAM. I finally get my credit card Company involve and force them to issuse a credit back to me. They do not response on any defective items and selling a lots of jumks, beware.

Horrible pricing policies. Ordered 2 1GB SD cards for $10.00 with free shipping. Saw it on another site for $5.50. Buy.com refused to pricematch as the site wasn't a "competitor". Two days later price on buy.com went down to $7.99 with free shipping. Asked for an adjustment to this price. "We cannot adjust the price on deals with free shipping promotions." What a bunch of B.S. both prices included free shipping! Buy.com is a bunch of crooks, look around and you will likely find a better more hassle free deal. I will never do business with buy.com again, and I advise everyone to do the same!

My recommendation is: stay away from Buy.com here is why:
1. Placing an order is confusing
2. You may or may not receive order confirmation
3. Your CC acount will debit right away - but long wait for delivery
4. Customer service via e-mail is a JOKE! They never respond!
5. Customer service via phone non-existent, where is the phone number?
6. True - you get your RA slip quickly, then... no response
7. No appology for sending wrong item?

I am under impression that, at Buy.com a customer is for the company not the company for the customer.

By the way, I am still waiting for my order placed in early December to arrive - spring is just around the corner!

I bought a camera from buy.com on dec 16th and forgoed the free shipping so i could receive it on time for christmas (an extra nine dollars)
A full week later, I checked on the status, and it had not even been shipped yet. I called them, after some stress trying to find their customer service number. I was placed on hold for 34 minutes until
i hung up. Over the next several days I tried calling with no luck of actually speaking to someone, just being put on hold. Finally, my order updated with a fedex tracking number. AFTER CHRISTMAS. I called again, and spoke to someone who didn't even speak english that well. She REFUSED to refund my extra shipping i paid to ensure christmas delivery, because she said it was in the "time frame" that they allow! I wanted to speak to a manager. She put me on hold again for 25 minutes and then hung up!
It arrived DEC. 29th. 13 days after I paid 3 day shipping for it. GUESS WHAT
THE WRONG CAMERA CAME. I ordered a polaroid, not a kodak!
I can't even get ahold of anyone or request an RMA online , as there is no way to select the order. I HATE BUY.COM

I agree. Stay away. Their service on books is good, everything else is horrible. They shipped the wrong item to me and every contact with them refuses to acknowledge their mistake and demands I pay to return the item, and they MAY refund part of my money. I get stuck paying postage BOTH ways when they make the mistake. A refund of my $20 dollar item I ordered will cost me $14.50 in shipping charges. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Stay away. There are other web sites with just as good of prices and better service. If you have inquiries on orders buy.com it takes a couple days minimum to get a response. There shipping is terribly slow and in fact they a month after ording a Christmas present they have no idea where it is? They say it shipped but the carries have no record of it. No price is good enough to deal with these clowns again.

Buy.com's website is not up to date, meaning it shows items it does not have in stock as being in stock. Once you order one of these out of stock items buy.com makes it difficult or impossible to cancel an order. Just try to find an actual customer service number on buy.com,s web site - the fact that there isn't one should tell you something - STAY AWAY.

Below is the E-mail I sent to Buy.com after two very frustrating, and relatively painless things for them to do for me to correct these experiences... Just simply inexcusable... I wish I had checked out this, and other sites like this, before buying from them.

I think all of the positive reviews are from people who have never had to deal with exchanging, returning, or simply interacting with their Customer Service one on one. I had bought a couple of things before from them, and had no problems... But, when you DO have a problem, you will NOT get satisfaction!

So, when my replacement hard drive arrives today, how do I return it for a full refund?

Buy.com has provided the WORST Customer Service I have ever experienced out of an online store!! Bar NONE!!

First, you sent me a DVD box set that had a duplicate DVD in it, and you wouldn't exchange it because of some fine print of not returning it within 14 days, and now this with the hard drive!! How could anyone POSSIBLY watch an entire season of shows within 14 days of YOUR ship date?!?!? I examined the DVD's when they arrived, but when the double sided, labeless-DVD numbers are 4 point type on the inside of the clear part of the DVD hole, how on EARTH can you expect people to stop to check for duplicate DVDs?!?! Now, I have 3, THREE DAYS, to order before you won't price match a product?!?!?! That is simply LUDICROUS!!! How you stay in business for long, is beyond me! You sold me this drive initially, and now all I want you to do is match your OWN price for this same drive!!

I have called REPEATEDLY to try and talk with a Supervisor to try and correct this situation, but repeatedly have been ignored, with no return calls.

Seems to me, exchanging (EXCHANGING, not returning!) a single DVD from a set worth $15, and crediting my account $25 for this hard drive price match (from your OWN STORE!!), would go a LONG ways to insuring a long term relationship between your company and myself, let alone every person I will talk to from here on out - while costing your company VERY little!!

Buy.com REALLY needs to learn about what it takes to provide good Customer Service. You have lost my business from now on, both personally and professionally, as well as the 186 people I just Blind Carbon Copied in on this E-mail to let THEM know how utterly pathetic Buy.com's Customer Service is.

Friends, and co-workers, I know many of you look to me for buying advice for most things online. You will find more details below of what a FARCE Buy.com's Customer Service is like. I strongly recommend you never buy ANYTHING from Buy.com, for fear of ending up with the same pathetic excuse for Customer Service as I have received. And, I strongly recommend you send this on to everyone in YOUR E-mail list as well! People need to be warned of what dealing with Buy.com can be like!!

I have blind carboned you in on this E-mail, so as not to inadvertently provide Buy.com with all of your E-mails, and unintentionally have you added to their spam list of specials, where I got sucked into their Customer Service void.

I truly hope Buy.com feels the pain of not doing "the right thing" here... For something that seems SOOO trivial, they could have just "taken care of me" for very little cost to the company (and I think you will ALL agree, I was deserving of better service that this!), but instead, their true light of how they do business shown bright, and clear.

Pass the word.

P.S. Of course, this will fall on deaf ears there, from some no brain thinking Customer Service Rep at Buy.com, but at least you all have been warned, and hopefully, you warn all of your OTHER friends as well... it's the only way we can make a difference. Again, pass the word!

I purchased a Sony PSP from Buy.com because they were offering $20 off when you use google checkout. I attempted to contact customer service regarding a question I had about a return. I emailed them twice (the second email asked for a phone call). After a week and a half, I still had not heard from them. So I tracked down an actual phone number and called customer service. The guy could not help me and told me that a manager could not help me either. I insisted to speak to a supervisor he told me I would have to call back between 9-5 pacific time. I emailed customer service again that day and asked for another phone call. I called back the next day and the number was busy for 30 minutes. I then sat on hold for a half hour and got disconnected. I then sat on hold for an hour and 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). The recording was giving me an option to press 1 and leave a message for someone to get back to me. After an hour and a half, I had to press 1 and leave a message because my cell phone battery was about to die. I left a message asking for a phone call. It has been two weeks since I sat on hold for an hour and a half and I still have not received a phone call. I will NEVER shop here again. It's not worth the $20 or whatever you might save. BEWARE of this seller and if you have any expectations for customer service whatsoever, do not do business with this merchant!!!!!

I ordered 2 items over Thanksgiving for Christmas presents. They were TuneTalk Stereo microphones for ipods. When my daughters tried them they were not compatible with their older ipods. I emaild for a RMA# and got this:

Bought an external hard disk because it was a really good deal. Well, guess what. It comes at a price. First of all, it's a lemon of a hard disk. Never worked. Next, their customer service is by far the worst I have ever seen--both via email and on the phone. Now, I have nothing against outsourcing, but if you are sitting halfway across the world, sipping some chai and pretending to help me, at least know your elbow from your nether regions. It only even gets the one star because the shipping was prompt and the price was good--fat lot of good that is doing me right now.

Folks, just stay away from Buy.com. Customer service is more a sounding board than anything else because they cannot do a thing. Not even supervisors or their managers can intervene or act upon anything to do with your order.

You can complain, plead, whatever...nothing is gonna get done. It's best to take your money somewhere else. I should have, and now I'm paying the price by having a Christmas present that has been paid for, but not under the tree.

It seems like any company with the word "Buy" in it should be avoided (Best Buy namely).

I have had nothing but trouble with this company ever since I received a gift certificate from them 6 months ago. Since service was so poor I requested they cancel my account and refund my money. They cancelled the account but refused to return my money. I have sent them countless emails, called New Delhi 5 times (on hold over an hour each time), contacted the BBB of Los Angeles, among others. NO SATISFACTION. Don't deal with this company!

I have ordered books and other items from Buy.com quite a number of times over the last 3 years, and have generally been happy with their prices and quick shipment. However, their customer service has generally been very poor. I you need to make any kind of change to an order, or cancel it, you are pretty much out of luck, even if you send an email minutes after posting the order. I have found that a cancelation will be ignored, and only acknowledged after the order is shipped, when it is too late.

Worst return policy ever. I ordered a product and it took a week to arrive. It stopped working within a week of my receipt. I emailed Buy.Com on either the seventh day after it arrived or the eighth. I got the usual bland confirmation email... then nothing.

I called 2 days later, was on hold for 40 minutes, got some Indian "customer service" rep who was barely understandable, and who told me that I could not return the item because..... Buy.com's return policy is that you can only return during the first 14 days after the product leaves their warehouse.

I pointed out that I had sent an email which was responded to on the 15th day; could he please check to see when I had sent the email. He claimed I had not sent any emails.

I then demanded to speak to a supervisor, and he told me the supervisor would tell me the same thing.

I then called back, held ANOTHER 40 minutes, got a supervisor, and was told that if I returned it to Buy.Com, THEY would return it to the manufacturer, so it would be faster to return it to the manufacturer directly.

Beware.

This store is horrible. I ordered a refrigerator, and the site said it would ship in 1-2 days. It shipped over 10 days later, and even now, 4 days after that, there is no tracking info. I call them after having to plead to get a phone number and I get some idiot that thinks that a 400lb fridge was shipped via USPS and that is why I didn't get a tracking number! Unbelieveable! Now this is supposedly being escaled to the corporate office - so I can get another fool that doesn't know anything and can't help! Never order anything more than a CD from here!

How do they get such high ratings? I charged a 20.1in. Viewsonic LCD monitor and after a moment of buyer's remorse, I cancelled my online order. It was shipped the next day anyway. I was tolded that at 3am the previous day, when I made the order, it had already begun the shipping process, even though it was not shipped until noon the following day. I was then told to simply refuse the shipment and it would be returned automatically and my $348 would be happily refunded. The package was remarkably reshipped to me and I refused it again. Upon questioning buy.com about my refund, I was told that since it took so long for me to return the shipment, an exchange, not a full refund was my only option. Ahghhhh! That's when I contacted my attorney, who advised me to ask for a full refund and let buy.com know I've sought legal counsel on how to best resolve this situation. It's been over a month and the game continues...I just want my money and the chance to tell the world how they did business this one time...?

Offer material on the website as beeing in stock when it is not. Collect money upon acceptance of the order then advise that material has been sent to warehouse. This is a misrepresentation of facts.Customer service gives you no satisfsaction on backordered orders. Buy.com will not permit an immediate cancelation of an order even when they change thew conditions of sale. Very dissatisfied. After 9 business days Buy.com give no solid responses. I would not recommend this site top anyone as the savings mean nothing compared to the headache of finding what is happenoing to your orders.

Tried to order speakers 5 times and 5 times the order was cancelled. The only reason given was that I did not complete the process. I was paying with paypal and they deducted the money from my paypal account all 5 times. If I didn't complete the process why did they have my money? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! There is no phone number to call and email responses are all canned. I did get money refunded each time. Finally gave up and ordered elsewhere. Will never use them again.

I ordered software from them. After three weeks it had not arrived, the tracking number they gave me didn't work (shipped USPS, no tracking, it seems.) All I could get was computer generated responses. I finally got a phone number and they told me they MIGHT refund my money in 7 to 9 MORE working days. They had to investigate with their shipper.

Geez, thanks for the update (only 8 days later) and for the elaborate details! After having emailed buy.com more than 24 hours ago with a request for more information I have yet to hear a word back from them - not even the lame automatic response most sites send you... I am definitely not buying from them again.
