The L.L. Bean site is fine and dandy, it's their way of doing business that stinks. Bought $234 worth of merchandise, returned 1 item for EXCHANGE, was charged AGAIN for the item and told I'd get a "credit" for the amount in 5 business days or so. They charged my Visa WITHOUT authorization from me, DOUBLE-DIPPING for a measly $139, so in reality I paid twice for a coat I did not have in my possession. Numerous calls, interminably long waits on hold, and having to get my bank involved, I got them to fix everything but I canceled the order and vowed (along with writing a scathing letter to Mr. McCormick, President & CEO) to never, ever buy from L. L. Bean again. I'm the Queen of on-line shopping (J. Crew, Zappos, Nordstrom and Saks - to name the Christmas retailers I purchased gifts from) and I have never had to pay TWICE for anything returned for exchange, etc.

A good honest site with plain classic stuff, but not always what I want in the size I need (tall). Log on and shop via TheHungerSite.com and they'll donate food to the 3rd world countries. Then you can eat your cake and share it too.

LL Bean's sight is a nice easy shopping site with not a whole lot of extra clutter and I especially like the fact that they don't try to bombard you with advertising while you're shopping or try and push things on you like some other sites do. Recently I shopped the Victoria's Secret site and right when I was heading to the virtual checkout they throw a pop up window at me trying to get me to pick a little extra something while I'm standing in my virtual line. No thanks, that part of the reason for shopping online in the first place is to avoid junk like that. With LL Bean I've experienced nothing but smooth sailing, keep up the good work!

I like LLBeans site a lot, nice, clean and easy to navigate. I also really like their stuff and that they guarantee their products for life, it's a win/win situation. I mean here's a company that's been in the mail order catalog business almost since their inception and been a dominant force in it. Now they've just made the obvious, and simple transition to a cyber catalog.

I have liked LLBean since I was in junior high school. There clothes last forever. Their clothes don't really go out of style. They have a ton of basics. The online option makes it really easy to make purchases.

LL Bean excels at online sales because they excel at real-world sales, and have the same customer-service oriented approach online. So many e-commerce companies are spending so much on advertising, they seem to skimp on service. LL Bean is a refreshing exception to that. There's something to be said for having a reputation to uphold.
