Google apps is my de facto office suite, and google reader is one of the things I spend a majority of my time online using in tandem with blogs. There are a number of intutitve power-user functions that you can discover in everything webapp they make.

The best out there, but is very invasive when it comes to privacy. Google saves all of your searches and a lot of your other data.

Google can put you at risk!...believe me mate...but google is good for business, but google is good for technological know-hows....I call it googality!

While Google has expanded way beyond being just a search engine, the search engine is still by far the most useful aspect of Google. If what you're looking for is on a public webpage, and you're moderately clever at entering the write keywords in the search box, Google will find it for you.

This is best search engine, and... just NOW there's on map with Street view map is now available in some cities including: Minneapolis/St. Paul, Dallas, Boston, Indianapolis and others. There's no one would be better than Google. GOOGLE ROCKS!

My earlier rating was 2, and it remained that way for close to 2 years. I am ashamed of saying that I have used it every since. It is obviously the best search engine out there. I previously said that it was ranked so high, because kids simply liked the name "google." I have recently found that out to be bogus. Google, is great. I use it for all of my searches now. I don't even mess with the others. I am ashamed to say I used to use others... because at that point, I never really used Google.

I admit, I am lazy when it comes to searching the web and typically just type what I am looking for in my url box which means that MSN does my search, but whenever I don't get the results that I want from my lazy search I immediately go to Google, because I pretty much always find what I needed. I understand some peoples frustration with the ads that Google works with, but I see them as valuable, after all you don't have to click on them and you can immediately tell which ones pertain to you and which ones don't. Sure Google isn't perfect, but then who is?

Google rules. Find what you want, because they make some smart guesses to match you to the correct site. Interesting company as well. Google Groups, Google Local, and Google Images are the best in their class as well. (And don't forget google maps, which, if you are looking at an area they cover, is incredible).

I love google and all but lately you have to wade through the garbage your search comes up with to get what you really want. Seems like whoever is paying google more money gets to be on top...but its still not what I was looking for.

It's simply the best search engine on the web! First of all it's not as cluttered as many others. There are no annoying pop-ups and graphic advertisements! It also does a pretty good search. Personally I love it and recommend it to everyone. I refuse to use anything else.

google is my searching site of my choice, but usually it doesn't dive me the proper thing, and it can show inapropriate stuff when you don't even search for it. no i don't look at inapropriate stuff(sorry if i get that word wrong).

Many other search engines give the same results. Nothing special once they went commercial. Do no evil? Give me a break! Do you really want the Google folks deciding what constitutes evil? Nope. I can do without this outfit.

The most overated search engine on the web. i don't know why users think its so great. can't nybody see over the sponsored listings. The online catalogs, though are interesting. Keep in mind that this is a commercial sight where commercial interest come 1st.

It has changed the search engine world - and IMO, the whole Internet - for the better. Simple, yet so quick and so outstanding that I find myself not needing to use any other search engines to find what I am looking for. GO GOOGLE!

The best search engine on the net. You load the page, and what do you see - a box in which you type your search terms. It is not like Yahoo where there is so much stuff on the home page, you have trouble finding the search box. It is incredibly fast, and thorough, and it has yet to fail me.

Has everything, except for audio/video search.

Google is okay. it's sort of like a card catalog out of control. you get more search hits but you got to weed through a lot more junk. if i'm researching something or someone, i tend to go more toward Yahoo. although for harder subjects i'd give Google a try. i remember trying to find something on Knut Hamsun and yahoo wasn't doing it, so i used google. but if i want a recipe or something i use Yahoo.

One of my very favorite search engines. I also like how they are improving things in the Google Services section like Google Groups, Google Labs, Google Alerts, etc. Google just keeps getting better.

This is the best search engine out there. First, the website is very plain. This doesn't sound like much, but when you have dial-up and need to find something quickly, websites like Yahoo and AskJeeves are no match for the time it takes to open up Google. It has such a large index of websites that no matter what you're looking for, you will almost always find it. If you don't, it's probably because you've misspelled something, for which Google will conveniently suggest its correct spelling. Also, when you search, it'll also offer relevant news articles. And where else can you search pictures? It is for these reasons that I have Google not only as my main search tool but also as my homepage.

I agree with Seraph, I love it when they dress up the logo on major holidays. Plus I like Froogle. But I prefer Yahoo for all my services.

Perfect in its simplicity. All we need is a box to put the words in...that's all. Also, I like the way they dress up the Google logo on holidays. And I agree with PBeavr about the cache; it's especially helpful at school when Websense blocks a site for no good reason.

I think Google is great and has many great features. I think Google is nothing special but its just what you need if you need to search up something.

Google is rated by everyone, as well as me, as the world's best search engine. I'm not sure why you'd use anything else when you can find just about everything you want at Google. Because of Google I am a member of Rate-It-All, along with Hotmail.

One of the best searches for pictures! Though not always perfect, revelant and current, they give me what I want whenever I need a visual aid for presentations. The sites they find are valid and reliable. Google is one of the best for general searches without pop-ups.

i love how google isn't flashy or full of ads. i like how the main site is simple and not busy with links and headlines and other thinngs like that. I also like how google incorporates a calculator and picture database. The i'm feeling lucky option is sometimes hilarius (i.e. write weapons of mass destrcution and click i'm feeling lucky) and Google has never failed me in finding exactly what i need, fast.

By far the best search engine and not a lot of nonsense on it's page. Just a simple white page with it's logo, sometimes decorated for whatever holiday it happens to be. Type in your word or phrase it will bring up a ton of stuff. Hit "I feel lucky is fun too." I usually get better hits with google than other search engines.

Google should be promoted to sainthood. :-) They have made it possible to find almost anything about everything. It is an invaluable resource.

Google has become the search engine of choice for me. The only fault one could say about Google is that you get too many results in a search. They are always improving the site. I keep both Google and Froogle on my tool bar. Any time I am going to buy something I use Froogle first. Now I have installed the google toolbar, the pop up blocker works great.

Whenever I need to do research or find out more about anything, I automatically type in Google. It's not only fast, but it's easy to get to and classifies things wonderfully. When I was doing a capstone project on New York City, I found all my resources in one place by going to Google. I just typed in what I needed, found a page pertaining to it, clicked on images and found pictures to go with the text. Google is by far the best search engine on the web!

Why anyone would search for anything anywhere besides Google is beyond me. Google makes me happy every time I use it.

I love Google and use it all the time. It always brings up lots of sites that I was looking for.

Google, the great search engine with the funny name, is an excellent search engine. I have not found one thing that this site can not find. If it’s online, it’s at google. I also love to use the other sections of google to look for photos and other information quickly. Googles interface is user friendly and very fast. I have used other search engines in the past, but none (big Mama, yahoo, hotbot, etc) even come close to the easy and speed of Google.

Hands down, the best search engine on the net. If you cannot find what your looking for on Google, then odds are that you won't have much luck with the search engines.

Google is my number one search engine. Rarely do I ever have the need to go to another search engine because I couldn't find what I needed to on Google. Not to mention that I discovered RIA through, you guessed it, Google. Google is #1.

Out of the search engines I use (Yahoo, Google, Alltheweb), I prefer Google, specifically for what I do. I often search for pictures to help in making 3D models, and their ability to search for pictures is very good. It's easy to navigate, and allows you to search the web, images, groups (?), directory (?), and news. It allows for a pretty good advanced search, too. I get quite a few unrelated pages/images, but that's to be expected, and it's a lot less than some other search engines.

This is my absolute favorite search engine. Back before I knew that it existed, I had always gone to Yahoo first, then to other search engines like Lycos and Altavista. Now I go to Google and ONLY Google. I also like that not only can you search for an item (like tornadoes) you can also see images that pertain to tornadoes, messages on Google Groups about tornadoes, and news stories about tornadoes. There is also a directory section, but that basically has the same links that you would see in the main search results. I even have thought of a motto that Google could use, if they haven't had it already: "If you can't find it on Google, you can't find it anywhere else".

Excellent and very easy to understand search engine for anything you want to know online. They also include archives of all Usernet group messages from the past 20+ years. The real difference between Google and other search engines is that it's much faster and not too complicated, especially for new Internet users.

I love this page. We use it everyday and the Google Advanced search is set as our homepage. I've read in PC World that there are google games, such as name war, where you type in 2 words versus a friends 2 words and see who gets more hits. I'd have to be really bored to try that, but the search engine is awesome.
