I don't really use yahoo for search. I think they have some great tools outside the realm of search that i use pretty often, but their critical functionality doesn't offer me the results I need most of the time.

havent used them too much. Was on a few email lists through them a few years back and they were ok but not real consistant.

I used to use Yahoo as my home page... back in 1998. Unfortunately aside from a few great properties like Flickr and Delicious, they've been overwhelmed by spammers.

I use MyYahoo!, which is pretty handy, and I do like Yahoo!Music (I had an account back when it was launchcast, so I kept using it), but that's about it. I have a Yahoo! email address, but I don't use it for anything.

my email is on it. it has unlimited storage it great!

Yahoo! has a ton of great tools including Delicious, Flickr, Y! Site Explorer, Y! Finance, their fantasy sports site, and even their search is pretty good (but not as good as Google). But the fact that Google beats them in search seems to have covered with the whole company with this cloud of despair. Snap out of it Y! - you're better than that.

Yahoo is alright, but I tend to like Google better. My Dad says that Yahoo is bad for your computer. He says that if you work on Yahoo you are making your computer more vunerable to hackers and such. I don't know if this is true, but I have noticed in the past that my computer freezes up sometimes while I am on Yahoo.

Too much extra curricular crap

Yahoo isn't my main internet source, but, I use it because I like all the features, games, music, e-mail, groups, and more. It's all free too.

Equal or better than Google on virtually all searches. More services and I trust them more to be non-biased than Google.

The search engine is hampered by the usual commercial listings and sponsored links, which always take priority. As a portal its almost par excellant? The groups, games, news et el makes Yahoo a good way to waste some time.

With a few esthetic tweaks, Yahoo's search engine seems to be nearly identical to Google. The search is quick and can be narrowed using categories. On top of all of this, the biggest advantage is that Yahoo! has so many other features that one doesn't have to go to another site (eg Google) to perform the search.

Functional and offer many useful links, however Google earns five stars.

Yahoo is a very reliable search engine which always delivers accurate results. Google is still more accurate but Yahoo are starting to hold their own in the world of search engines.

I love Yahoo!! It has SO MANY cool features and i'd say its my favorite website. I mean think about it you can get a file get points in the amaizing games. So just the gaming part is good enough to be a great website but then Yahoo's got e-mail, messenger, personals.. Yahoo! Rocks!!

Google all the way....Yahoo takes to long to load compared to Google..

Yahoo may have been your first stop to search for web sites when connecting online for the first time, since it's been helping shape the web we all know and love for years now. Not only does it have a search engine, which is now operated by Google, but it has many other features as well, such as message groups, stores, games, and auctions. The only things that I'm sure many users complain about are the constant ads that many put up with through areas such as the message boards. Yahoo may not be the greatest engine, but it's still the best place to get to know a little more about the web.

Ad content is distractive.

A great site for information, but a portal that tries to make you buy something with every click.

Why use this when google is available??!

Yahoo is really a good search engine. Going straight to Google is easier, though.

they have cute commercials on tv, and their website is pretty helpful

I don't know who wrote the search algorithims for Yahoo, but they are AWFUL. They could learn a lot from Google.

I really like the whole network... The search engine is perfectly indexed... The mail is quick and safe... The groups are easy to communicate with other people... I love it!

Seems to be bulky and slow. Though it does run the Google Search method now it has possibly one of the most crowded and hard to look at interfaces. So cluttered with advertisments and pay-per-click users it seems nearly unbearable for me to use it. Why use a jumbled ad filled search engine when you can use something like Google which outputs a nice clean copy of what you really need? It's top dog for now but I can't see them staying top forever. just my $0.02

The search engine yahoo is a good one with a huge site network and great results powered by google. Since the results are brought by google, they perform the same so far as searching. And Listing a site is really easy and simple, you just go to the catagory you want it lsted then you click the "add a site" link and it gets indexed within a few days and it's free to submit a site. that's a real plus for all you webmasters out there. I also am impressed with the navagaton and how easy it is to get around and the site is not all complicated like others that take forever to load. yahoo takes just a little while to load. I think most searches should be this way, so you spend less time searching and more time getting the info you want. And the real plus to yahoo is, you can make your own web site with geocities. you geta full features 15-20 meg site, with all the needed tools for a great experince for your visitors. I am pleased with yahoo and they are one of the most succesfull web portals out there.

Yahoo! is pretty good but there have been times that I could not find what I was looking for on their search. The mail sevice is nice and basic and they have a good selection of greeting cards.

Yahoo isn`t as good as Google as a search engine but as a portal it`s hard to beat. They have almost everything you need. It`s the best there is !

Yahoo is one of the lesser search engenes out there. Sadly, they won't always find your website. Unlike google, the words must be in the domain name which they charge $80.00 to advertise.

This search engine almost always gives results for any kind of question. It also has other nice features within it, like maps, TV and movie listings, and weather reports. The results tend to be given in a spread out way, which makes it hard to deal with if you're search is broad.

I like Yahoo because it has a big search engine. However, most times it is too big. I'll look up one thing and it will give me a million results, most of which don't really have to do with my subject.

Horrible web site. It appeals to consumers that lacks a lot of computer experience. Results often aren't what you are looking for. Good features for a start page (maps, stocks, etc.) but as a search engine....use something else.

This search engine is very broad in searches, which is a good thing because if you come up with a general topic, it will often come up with some variety topic that might suit your needs.

When you search, it comes up with site matches your topic, which makes it easier to find the information you want. If these sites matches don't help, they still give plenty of other website options. They give brief summaries of each webpage, but many of them don't give yu any useful information.

I use this search engine the majority of the time. I really like the simplistics of it. I also like all the other features Yahoo! offers, mainly the maps.

I have never liked Yahoo as a search engine. The way that they bring up the sites is quite confusing to me. I like their site for travel, but other areas are buried and it takes a while to get to the info. you are looking for.

The Paramount of search engines. It has everything! The homepage is informative and has very current news. If you search for something on Yahoo and you don't get any results, then what you are looking for doesn't exist. All the different sub-catagories on the homepage make searching even easier. You go Yahoo!

Through Yahoo!, you can find a variety of search topics. Yahoo is also a good e-mail service. When used in combination with Bluelight.com, you can have free Internet which is just as good as AOL (which you have to pay for).

This is a great search engine, even though sometimes it takes more than one try to find what I'm looking for. But overall, I haven't had any real trouble. Once in awhile it will give you a direct link to the actual homepage of the subject you're looking up.

MAKES IT SOOOO EASY TO FIND ANYTHING YOU WANT. I HAVE AOL AT MY WORKPLACE AND CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WITH THEIR SILLY KEYWORD SYSTEM AND ALL THE POP-UP BOXES ARE A COLLOSAL WASTE OF TIME.

It's tough to beat Yahoo! First and foremost it's a really great search engine that's easy to use and returns relevant results. Without this I'm sure it would quickly fade away but more than anything else Yahoo! is big because it's Yahoo! Everyone knows Yahoo! Yahoo! has become the Xerox of the search engine world, just as Xerox became synonymous with copying and to a large degree replaced it as a term. Not that people are walking around saying "I'm gonna Yahoo! it" but it's certainly on the tips of their tongues.

Yahoo works great for me when I'm looking for some odd ball thing.

When you're starting a Web search, you really only need two options: Yahoo! for index or category searches (e.g., you want to see a lot of Web sites about a certain actress), or Google for random keyword searches (e.g., you're looking for an article that mentions the number of eggs an average Americans eats each year). Yes, I know Yahoo! uses Google, too, but I find that it's usually easier to go straight to the Google site. Overall, since Yahoo has been such a fundamental part of the Web from almost the start, it's hard to imagine surfing without it. I do draw the line when it comes to the "extra" services, like auctions or invites. It's no fun to see one company monopolize every promising Web application.

I have been very pleased with Yahoo. When I'm looking for something specific or I'm just surfing through the web, I use Yahoo. Yahoo has been very reliable.

A good search engine, but its other features make it stand out. I like its customizability, and the free email. The finance section allows you to easily track your investments. My favorite part would have to be the free picture post area, where you can post digital photos to share with friends and family.

If I ever need to find a certain something, I go to Yahoo.com. It always comes up with a lot of different sites for what I'm looking for. A lot of my friends have their email service and they say that they love it and find it really easy to work. It's actually my homepage...that's how useful I find it to be.

You find practically every topic that interests you. For instance, I was researching a particular disease that I needed information on and Yahoo! helped me.

Yahoo! has lots of different things to choose from, like astrology and palm readings. Great information for research. The email service is GREAT! Yahoo messanger allows you to chat too. Yahoo also has a great finance section for keeping up your portfolios.

It's all about the name and Yahoo's got it! I use this engine mainly because of its popularity and reputation, but also because it is a great search engine, with an attractive layout.

An excellent search engine. A good feature is it finds sites within Yahoo related to the search, and you can also go to other web pages. It's also nice how it's one of the only search engines with e-mail and other common Internet applications.

It gives me everything that I could possibly want. I am able to connect to music, stocks, and so much more at just one click. They give me a great search range when I ask for a particular topic. I use this search engine all the time.

Yahoo is the head honcho among all other site providers. They are the yellow pages of the internet, catering to anyone who can access a computer. They have everything and anything.
