 | abichara (60) 02/01/2007 | Depends. This is a very good place to get international weather forecasts, but for domestic forecasts, the National Weather Services site can't be beat (www.weather.gov)

 | NOitsNOTrainingBUDDY (0) 12/14/2005 | Terrible. I might as well roll a die to pick a weather condition. Now I understand they archive weather data, that got them one star. The second star is because they actually have a decent looking site, and it is mildly easy to navigate. Unfortunately they need to at least report the weather correctly "as it's happening." For example, it says its snowing like crazy in my zip code... ummm, its 40 and clear skies! Miss a prediction? I can live with that. But telling you its snowing, raining, etc. right now when it is clearly not is ridiculous.

 | theystink (0) 11/28/2004 | The weather man is the ONLY person on the planet who NEVER says, I'm sorry, I was WAY off, I apologize for making the WRONG forecast yesterday.
Has anyone ever heard this ??? These people have a license to be wrong. No one ever calls them on it, they just keep getting it wrong, week after week, with NO accounting for mistakes !!!
The ONLY profession that rewards innaccuracies with promotions and new clothes.

 | BIGBABY (10) 07/11/2004 | The rating of three has gone down to one. Truly terrible. I don't think the Weather Channel has ever got the forecast correct up here. Whenever they say sunny, its always cloudy. One time, they said one inch of snow. We ended up getting 33 inches! However, they've gotten even worse. Their website has annoying pop ups that dont go away. Before I could at least see the wrong forecast- now even that is blocked off! Ugh!

 | princessangry (2) 03/02/2002 | Weather.com is a great resource for weather when you are not around a tv. The forcasts are quite accurate, the local page is a plus. The locals page gives you all your local weather info plus other local events. Plus it gives you a 10 day forcast without even having to go to seperate page! also, you get the current doppler reading on the right side! and right under it there's a pull down menu where you can choose several different weather maps like lightning strikes, current temps, dewpoins, regionals, Precipitation, snow and a lot more!!!! you can also show the map in motion!! I found this site to be the most informative weather site out there. The site could be easier on the coding since it does take a while to load on slow connections, but it habs't really bogged down as of yet. It is pretty stable, considering the intense coding. The Weather Channel has always given a good forcast so far as 1 or 2 days ahead but it's hard to trust any forcast that is several days away.. if you heard of the chaos theory... it will explain it.... anything can change of course!!! so it's very hard to keep perdictions accurate to an extent!!! but weather.com keeps a good handle on thier forcasts, but they sometimes have thier down-times especailly during the first few months if the year when anything can change.... but in the summer it's easier to keep a handle on... oh well great siten great channel... could go more local and show the regions for a little longer time...

 | PoorOldEdgarDerby (4) 03/07/2001 | Although I think the Weather Channel is great and an incredible resource I've actually not been very impressed with the Weather.com website. It's very easily laid out easy to navigate but I've noticed the information they post there is so useless when it comes to getting a local forecast. While the local news stations are talking about say a snow storm several days away Weather.com will only list possible snow showers. The next day it changes to chance of snow, and then finally when the day arrives it will actually exclaim Snow! So many times it says something that is incredibly vague and to a large degree in contrast to the local forecast, and the sad part is I think the local forecaster are pretty lousy as well. So for actual accuracy, other than on the current day, I'd say Weather.com is barely worth my checking. Okay at best. **UPDATE** I've downgraded Weather.com because after yet another example of how utterly lousy their information is I just can't believe they even try to post forecasts. They shouldn't even have a website if they are going to post such crap!!! Well this time I was thinking ahead and saved the forecast information presented on their website and I am pasting it below as an example of how totally innacurate their forecast was. Here's the story..in case anybody out there doesn't know the Northeast has been hit by a large snow storm over the past couple of days. Now for days and days prior to this every local radio station and television station has been talking about all the snow that's coming, warning people that this could be a once in 50 years type of storm possibly dropping up to 30 inches of snow. It's not like it was a surprise as we watched it on television working it's way up the eastern seaboard for two or three days before as Pennsylvania and other mid-Atlantic states got hammered. So I go the weather channel on Sunday night to see what useful information I can get there (mostly because my girlfriend works an hour away all of which is highway driving and we wanted to see what the conditions might be like before she headed down and whether she would face the possibility of getting stuck). Below is what they had on their website at 8:20 pm on Sunday night

According to Weather.com we were going to get aout 3 inches of snow total over two days. Well, I can tell you from shoveling the driveway that we got exactly that..plus an additional 21 inches on top of it. Utter incompetence. I don't know what else to say. The only thing more pathetic is that after I went to Weather.com and saw how contradictory their forecast was compared to every other form of media I went to Accuweather.com. They have streaming video reports. Very impressive right? Except that their forecast was for Thursday, Friday and Saturday!! The three days prior to the day on which I was watching.
