This was a great site many years ago when it was free. Now, it's mostly crap. I was going to actually pay the money to join until I realized that the search was showing every single eligible woman in my specified age range, and 95% were not paying members (so they wouldn't ever be able to communicate with me). I never completed my profile or put a picture in, yet I'm getting regular emails telling me that I've been matched, emailed, etc. trying to entice me to join. Real people don't respond to unfinished, no-photo profiles. So, this one appears to have devolved into another scam site.

Men on there are,talking nasty, one showed me his penis,one con man turned into to C.I.A, running a scam,its a poro site.All the cute guys,want to have phone sex.crewed up.I was one for 1 year.Never met normal Man. I ccontacted them and their reply was dont talk to the person. With his penis in my face after I accepted his IM. Sicko men, married,liars,just LOOSERS!!!!!!!

Comments from a paying member: This site isn't bad. It's nice that you can see who has been checking out your profile and you can rate your interest in someone (no, maybe or yes). If you both say yes they will let you know by email, it makes it a little easier to make the next move. However I haven't had much luck with emailing. If you're not online you don't get much action. People seem to be more into the IM thing. I would consider the men on this site to be good looking, but use causion becase I've ran into a few that are just looking for a hook-up.

This site is okay for the 24.95 a month.I am a very hot girl and have no problem attracting men,but wanted to try to meet people on personality rather.I actually met somone I liked alot on this site out of maybe 500 guys that sent me emails and teases.I also went out with two other not wrong but not right men either.I think the 24.95 I paid for 1 month was worth the new friends and the dinners and drinks I enjoyed on my dates.Also juse make sure you cancel you membership before your 30 days is up so you do not get recharged.

This site is absolutely horrible! You have to subscribe to have any type of communication. Sites such as Match.com and Yahoo Personals have winks and icebreakers, respectively, which you may send for free and you get to view who sent them to you and respond. On American Singles however, you have to subscribe just to look at the people who send you the free teases! Also alot of the members on the site haven't been active for years! So it appears that they have a very wide range of members when in actuality then don't have that many current members. Big Waste of time on this site!

I have received a couple of emails saying that a person whom I had talked to in the past wanted to re-establish contact and that they had just updated their American Singles profile. When I went to look up their profile, the webstie said that their profile was no longer active... Sounds like their trying to get you to resubscribe. I usually happens soon after you cancel from the website.

Very deceptive banner ads should make you wary about joining this site....
