The most expensive piece of crap I ever bought TECRA S1. Died in the first week, was repaired and lasted a further 11 weeks ...Has been residing in the shed with all the useless rubbish that is accumulated over the years. Has been there for 3 years now.. I have NEVER recommended Toshiba after this bad experience.... I will NEVER recommend Toshiba products again..

I have the S3. THis one has actually been working with no problems! FIrst one... not cool! When I received the first unit, it was dead (hard drive failure within 2 days0 so it was replaced. Second one went through 3 hard drives and a motherboard! I finally bugged Toshiba so much, they replaced it and like I say this one has been ok. You are likely better to buy a Dell or LG

Tecra S1 is a piece of crap according to my experience: replaced keyboard, touchpad and now also hard drive and battery need to be replaced. Not to mention the touchpad failed for the second time. Next time I'll buy a Thinkpad.

Tecra S1, top series they say... motherboard is to be replaced, hard drive is to be replaced, pointing device is to be replaced. Is this what a high-end class hardware is about? Thank you, I will switch to another manufacturer. With my DELL I have never had a single problem.

I have only had mine for 3 months normally with my desktop units I would have had something go very wrong with it by then. I'm happy for now.

Never ever buy Toshiba again! Very bad quality, cheap construction. Repairs are a nightmare!! Every Toshiba I have ever seen has had the motherboard replaced at least once. None of the software drivers are standard. To install the drivers you must strictly follow instructions which are multiple pages long... if for any reason the install doesn't work- start over!

Repairs needed within the first year:two new keyboards, two new motherboards, replace LCD screen, new modem, new CD ROM drive, all the connections needed to be changed. I first purchased a Tecra 8000, After having it in the shop for 8 months of the 10 months I owned it, Toshiba sent me a Tecra 8100 because they were unable to fix my orginional one (I had to fight for a replacement. After speaking to a dozen people, they said there was nothing wrong with the pc. I had to speek to someone at their headquarters. They checked and said there was a notation that they found bad connections that were not worth fixing). If you are purchasing the pc for the DVD player. FORGET IT! If you are purchasing it to use the pc. FORGET IT! Instead of coming with Windows 98, it came with Windows 2000 for network pc's. It was not set up as a personal computer and they would not fix it. I had to spend $300 to have it reformated and set up Windows Me (which I had to purchase). The LCD screen broke (from picking it up-very thin plastic case) and after I had it for 1 month (I take great care of it) the pc doesn't boot up properly; jams in suspend mode; will not shut down most of the time; DVD player does not work; and it is extremly slow. I have also found that many common programs don't run properly on it and Toshiba overrides some of the Windows Me options (i.e. power saver, etc.) With the laptop, I purchased the replicator and the expansion station. Neither will work with it and the softwear for it is only for Windows 95. The pc also is not worth its price. The only good thing about the pc is the LCD screen is very clear(if it is not broken) and you are able to speek with A LOT of friendly people (and listen to great music :-)) while you are tryin getting it repaired. I don't think I would buy a tecra if it came in a Happy Meal. Good Luck in your PC search-I have had great luck with my Compaq:-)

Broke in every conceivable way. Keyboard, LCD, RAM are all faulty.

Great power, DVD and lightweight. Excellent product with good support from Toshiba. Keyboard is excellent and screens are vibrant.

Good performance and price. Easy to use, never experienced any major problems. Could use larger display.

Tecra notebooks are light and have a great battery life. They don't come with a good instruction manual.

This computer is really expensive for what you get. It is poorly designed. I don't like the mouse either. However, the screen has good images.

This notebook is not too great by itself since it lacks CD-Rom and floppy drives unless you get attached to a desktop station. It runs good, but occasionally freezes, maybe because of overheating. I like the lightweight, compact size of it, and long lasting battery.

This particular lab-top computer has excellent graphics, speed, and compatibility. I own this computer and I was also able to add a DVD video drive to my Tecra 8000 series.

The ease of execution is the most important asset of this notepad. The ability to interact with the PC.

The Toshiba Tecra series fulfills all my needs. It is very useful and convenient for college students or anyone who travels.

I like Toshiba laptops the best. You can drop them because they are so durable.

Not entirely reliable, stupid quirky conflict problems with very standard software. I would not buy another Toshiba.

Toshiba as a company puts out a low quality product. Although the company did fix my computer very quickly, to fix it it had to replace my screen, battery, and keyboard. (less than six months later my screen is broken again).

The Toshiba Tercra Series is the best b/c it has a fuzzy logic processor for a cheap, affordable price. It has great expandability.
