 | CastleBee (85) 08/06/2001 | So far, this is definitely an improvement over my phone modem, though at first I didn't realize I would also need a memory upgrade before I saw the total increased speed. I had a few minor problems in the very beginning involving Email setup (or re-setup I should say). As "Drummer4Jesus" mentioned you can spend quite a bit of time on hold and still not get an answer - which I did at least 3 different times. The worst thing that happened during one of these experiences was when the tech guy said he was trying to get the answer to my question via email and, rather than have me wait any longer, he would call me right back as soon as the email arrived. It had been over an hour at this point, the amusement value of computer solitaire had gone way down and I wanted to eat dinner so I said okay. Well, I'm here to say no matter how hungry you get, do not fall for that one unless you first get a definite name and direct number to call back yourself…yep, you guessed it - he never called back (obviously did not intend to) and I had to go through the entire process from square one. Since then, everything has been great though - instant access to the web that is actually much faster and more reliable than my connection at work. When you also consider that I now have my phone line back switching to cable not only gave me faster Internet access and speed, but also actually comes out a little cheaper than adding another phone line. I just hate when people lie to me - so they lose one star for shoddy tech support. I may put it back in one day if I have a better experience in the future.

 | artbuf (0) 09/06/2000 | While I don't care for the upstream bandwidth throttling, they do provide decent support. I had a lot of downtime during the buyout by AT&T from the local cable company, but things have been pretty stable and fast lately. Their customer support could use a little help; I tend to spend a half-hour on hold to speak with someone who can't do anything, followed by another 20-30 minutes waiting for a manager who FINALLY handles the issue.

 | swoo4742om (0) 03/19/2000 | Email service is terrible. Messages received days after they were sent to me or not at all. Messages I sent out were re-sent a week later to the same person!!!
Hoping they get their act together!!

 | kayg2299om (0) 03/11/2000 | Great technical support! High speed access. The company focuses on networking and anticipating what the customer will want...and it shows. This is the premium ISP!

 | rwhi4535om (0) 03/10/2000 | Wow! After switching from dial-up a month ago, I continue to be amazed at the speed of my connection. @Home also has good content and pretty good customer service. The installation was a bit of a hassle, but it was totally worth it.
