 | caphillsea77 (29) 01/16/2007 | Lets see... holiday hangovers, crappy weather, and the dreadful credit card statements, seems I'm always broke in January... definately not one of my favorites

 | Bird808 (52) 02/15/2006 | This has to be one of the worst months of the year. It gets two stars for New Years Eve/Day, but other than that your usually broke due to all the presents and spending during the holiday celebrations around Christmas and New Year. Its cold, miserable and its too darn dark in the mornings to get up.

 | goldilocks (5) 10/31/2005 | The days are short, but I like this month. It starts off the new year with goal setting, and pay off what was spent on Christmas. plus my birthday is in Jan.

 | Alexg681 (1) 01/12/2005 | I don't mind a nice snowstorm and some cold weather. NFL playoffs, and the Super Bowl is almost always in January. However, it is depressing, end of the holidays, start of a new year, and when I went to school, it was back to school.

 | Jamie McBain (44) 07/25/2004 | It's long, boring, dreary, dull, snowy, and worst of all cold.... At least there is New Year's Day to look forward to.

 | VirileVagabond (32) 03/12/2004 | Not much good to say about the month of January. The excitement of the new, colder season and snows in December has now become an irritation and hassle, the fun spirits of the Holidays are now the bills that must be paid, and the second semester of school starts. On the upside, the Super Bowl ends the pro-football season, college basketball starts its rivalry conference games, and New Year's Day provides a psychological fresh start (though tempered by the dreary weather). January is named after Janus, the Roman two-faced god of doorways and beginnings.

 | Molfan (57) 02/22/2004 | one of the worst months. I live in a cold weather state so we really got dumped with snow in January and it is still here in later February. It is slowly melting and then it snows again. In january it does not sunshine much where I am at so it can be dreary. And in January we know we have a long way to go before it gets decent again.

 | Enkidu (37) 12/19/2003 | Spring comes (where I live); the earth turns green; cool clear days alternate with great rainstorms; bird-of-paradise blooms; usually I work hard. Four stars.

 | tvtator (5) 11/03/2003 | The worst month by far. Bitter cold, it's after cold and depressing. Seems like winter will never end. Work seems to drag. A month of death. Just skip to March.

 | StanUzbeck (14) 09/15/2003 | Although it's not as bad as February, January has got to be one of my least favourite months. I live in Canada so in Jan. it's far too bloody cold to do anything. You slog out to the car and spend ten minutes scraping the ice off the windows, which is also the minimum amount of time it takes the vehicle to warm up enough that you don't feel like you're sitting in a block of ice. You can't do anything outside so most activites are strictly indoors. It's also depressing because around here the sun goes down at around 5:00 pm in January, so you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. A lot of old people just give up and die in Jan. and Feb. because life sucks for these two months.

 | Redoedo (39) 03/08/2003 | The beginning of a new year- a new beginning. However, for most of us its back to school or work, which is never fun after such a great holiday. The weather brings back memories of Christmas, which is depressing.

 | BIGBABY (10) 02/07/2003 | An OK month. Christmas is over and its time to go back to school. Thats hard to get used too. The multiple snow days make up for some of the dissapointments.

 | Jan168301 (0) 12/15/2002 | Jan. is the best month of the year b/c it's the beginning of a new year ... the 1st month of the year. It is also one of the coldest and my b-day also happens to be in January.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 12/05/2002 | January is usually way colder than I like it, and after those great holidays we just got through, you're always kind of in a state of post-Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's depression.

 | MedgarEvers (14) 12/11/2001 | I still have trouble learning to cope with the down time after X-Mas, but for my section of the world, January = snow. And snow is a good thing for the most part.

 | liddlebopeep (0) 07/26/2001 | To me, January has to be the most depressing month of the entire year. The Christmas rush has past and you're stuck with lousy weather for at least three more months. Your holiday bills start coming in and it's prime time for catching the flu. For most us, it's also back to work and school which kinda sucks. All in all, when I think about January I can't help but feel blue.

 | Janey_Lane (0) 07/19/2001 | I just love January. Not as cold as December, not as 'warm' as Febuary. The snow's still there, the lakes are kinda frozen, the streets are not as full. Some leftover christmas decorations are highlighting the town and you can stop and enjoy them knowing that you wont have to buy christmas gift for another 12 months. Everyone's cleaning up after Christmas and New Years. People walking around in false spirits, imagining that this year they wont make any of the mistakes they did last year. But most importantly... it's cold and it's cozy.
