02/14/2006 | not much better than January. we live in Michigan so we get cold damp dreary snow and mostly cloudy days. so far this winter has been a tad bit better than last. at least we are getting a few weather breaks when in January and this month it actually got up to the 40s {which is great for us} otherwise I hate the winter months. and with the gas bills it is costing to heat the house makes it even worse.

01/12/2005 | I don't mind a nice snowstorm and some cold weather. The Super Bowl is in February is this year. It's also nice that with 28 or 29 days it goes by faster than any month. But it's still not one of my favorite months. Single or not, I still don't like Valentine's Day very much.

05/27/2004 | February is one of my favorite months in So. California because the smog is washed away by the rain and you actually see the snow capped mountains. It's one of the most lovely sights in L.A. I like this month also because the tourists are scarce, the snowboarding is on, the the waves are cranking with a good winter swell. The surf line-up isn't packed as much, and the water is often glassy. I love to wear classic winter clothes at night, bundled up on a city sidewalk.

02/28/2004 | February is clearly the most dreary of months. After two (and maybe more) months of cold, wet weather, February merely adds insult to injury, notwithstanding it normally having only 28 days. Groundhog Day supposedly lets me practice getting twenty-four hours perfect (repeating the day until I do so); however, I inevitably mess up yet again on Valentine's Day about two weeks later. Leap Years are kind of nifty; nevertheless, my phone doesn't ring off the hook on Sadie Hawkins Day (though Leap Day does hint at the Summer Olympics around the corner). The word on the street is that February was derived from the word februa, which represented the Roman purification festivals held during this month.

11/03/2003 | The second worst month. Still freakin cold outside. Usually that blasted Ground Hog fails and we get six more weeks of winter. Well DUH we'd get six more weeks any way. Then we have Valentines Day. Why do loved ones have to have a day reserved to buy a gift, take each out to eat and/or say I love you? Do that everyday or pick any day. What an annoying holiday. The only thing that stops me from giving this month 1 star is that some people I know were married this month and they've been married a very long time.

09/15/2003 | February is by far my least favourite month. Living up north it is just as cold as January, but by the time February rolls around you are really sick and tired of the cold and the ice. It is the dying season for the elderly because they just get worn out after three months of frigid temperatures, and everyone else is grumpy most of the time. The only good thing about the weather is that it seems to make coffee taste and feel soooooo much better.

04/17/2003 | February is a great month. We get to see the Groundhog, celebrate Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day, sometimes leap year. It depends where you live as to how the weather will be. It also means gifts if it happens to be your birthday month.

03/09/2002 | John, I do like your comment about needing the dreary months to appreciate months like May and June (although, in my list of favourites, that would be July and August!). I really must try to remember that sentiment next year. Here in Manitoba, February is often very cold and, after the cold of January, it's the month when it seems winter will never end. For me, it's the month when cabin fever sets in, complete with dissatisfaction with everything. Years ago, I clipped a "Garfield" cartoon where that sometimes wise cat referred to February as "the Monday of months". I think he was right!

02/03/2002 | My birth month.Bottom of the ratings.That's understandable.The winter has become wearying,the landscape still bleak,the nights still long.A time for hibernation,for escape to warmer climes.Here,(instead of the once usual snow)weeks of seemingly endless gales and driving rain,the fields flooded,our longed-for getaway weekend cancelled ,and the roof leaking through on my birthday yesterday! And yet...clusters of snowdrops(always my favourites),and now the first crocuses..the young lambs..by the end of the month,rows of daffodils and the days noticeably longer.A time to cherish the little precious things.To snuggle up tight,together.Without the dreary months,would May and June be so joyful and miraculous?February too has its purpose.May the sun shine in all your hearts,if not in the sky.

12/08/2001 | I love this month because I was born imn february!! and that's where the best deals ofr pc's and electronic and stuff like that go on slae!!! plus I am really hyper most of that month and that's where school get cancelled the most where I live. he he. and also tat's when we go on a lotta cool trips and get outta school more. I also like it cause that's when alotta famous peeps are born.

08/02/2001 | Back in my grade school days, I can remember this as being one of the months famous for providing those coveted unplanned holidays known as - SNOW DAYS! When that was no longer a factor in my life and I started working, February just became that gray mostly sunless month you have to push yourself to get through. I guess I wouldn't mind it as much even now if I could take about half of it each year and go someplace warm and most important - iceless. The truth is, by the time this month rolls around I have usually been rolling around on ice and snow off and on for a good month and a half. My nerves are shot, my patience has worn really thin and I long for a job that would allow me to become a hermit in my own house - at least until late March or April!

08/02/2001 | February isn't as cold as January but still a pretty chilly month. The snow has melted or is melting away. The bird have begin singing, the frost's still attached to the groundin in the mornings. February is not quite as stressfull as some other months, no real holidays to get angst about and the sun stays out longer and longer. Just a very mellow and pretty peaceful time. People are too exhausted from December and January to get worked up about details.

07/18/2001 | February is the most dreary, depressing month of the year. It's cold and the days are way too short. You're ready for winter to be over, but it's still going strong, and spring is still a couple months away. I think the February I spent in Chicago may have been the coldest month I've endured in my life. At least there's a great holiday to break the monotony... Oh wait, that's right, the big holiday is Valentine's Day - easily the most annoying holiday of all time.
