Though I prefer Corel's WordPerfect over Microsoft's Word for word-processing, in my opinion Corel's Quattro has always been the weaker sister of Microsoft's Excel. In general, I have had trouble getting Quattro to do what I could relatively easily accomplish with Excel, most notably some of the aesthetic formatting. The bottom line is that Quattro can do all the basic, intermediate and most of the advanced tasks that Excel can do, but the latter is more intuitive and seems to have more and better features for your task and to make your spreadsheets appear as desired.
