positives include Easter Sunday, flowers begin to bloom, days getting longer, mornings are still nippy but by afternoon it's warm. the negatives are migraine headaches from tree pollen falling in the air, everything has green powder on it from the pollen.

Beautiful time. The days are longer, and I love planting flowers and watching them bloom as well as watching the buds on the trees become leaves.

This is the month when Spring really begins. But it can be a little too rainy sometimes. It is a great sports month. The Final Four and the beginning of the baseball season. The NFL draft. The start of the NHL and NBA playoffs.

This month brings some interesting waves. So. California recieves it's last storms, and we may even get a thunderstorm out of April. The skiing gets mushy, but the crowds thin out. I love the green of April. Green is a commodity here.

In the big scheme of things, April is an average month. Here in North Carolina, spring arrived the month before in March and by April the novelty has worn off leaving only wet weather and the yearning for May and summer. Serious school time is still ahead (if memory serves) and it is still to cold to swim. On the plus side, life returns to both flora and fauna and Easter brings brighter colors to the wardrobe. April is named for the Latin word aperire which means to open, and the month was considered sacred to the Roman goddess of love, Venus.

Not as dramatic as March, nor yet as soft as May. Erratic weather, and tends to be damp where I live.

One of the best months! Usually it's warm, comfortingly mild. Spring Break. Doesn't rain a lot where I'm from, it's a common mis-conception of April it is.

The cruelest month breeding lilacs out of the dead land, but green here, windy still, allergies, ticks are bad in the mountains, walk on the beach instead; first big fogbanks rolling in.

Though, unfortunately, it's not the month I was born in (I missed out on being a 'bull' [taurus] and instead am 'Gemini' [what the hell is that crap -two twins?]) April is my fav. month. The gist of Spring, my fav. season, and the best weather all year -at least where I live. Not too hot and certainly not cold and green colors everywhere. One "chinese" bad-ass month.

A moderate month with relief from winter and anticipation for the summer. Easter is a great holiday to celebrate. A mediocre month at best.

April is a wet, dreary month with lots of school yet. Spring Vacation is fun, but its too early too have a Spring vacation.

April showers bring May flowers, and ragweed, and pollen, and hay fever, and miserable sinus infections, etc.

"And April's in the west wind, and daffodils." John Masefield made the connection before I did, but for me April and daffodils are inseparable and those gorgeous cheery yellow blooms appear first in the stores and then, by the end of the month, peeping up in gardens. It's an uncertain month that has been known to bring our worst blizzards in its first week, with temperatures soaring in its last weeks. It's a month of freedom when finally ice and snow disappear, and those first welcome signs of green start to appear. April reminds me that summer is just around the corner.

For April -another of the hopeful, welcoming months with a Spring in the step- i always think of Robert Browning's "Home Thoughts, from Abroad": "O to be in England/Now that April's there,/And whoever wakes in England/Sees,some morning,unaware/That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf/Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,/While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough/In England-now!"...

April is pretty good. I live in a cold weather state. So April is a month where we may get lucky and see some decent weather have a long dreary winter. We begin to see some startings of spring. The days are quite a bit longer. My kids love April because they get spring break. and both of their birthdays are in April.

Besides the chance of severe weather going up, April is a great month! My birthday falls in this month, which biases my opinion just a little bit :). Also, Easter (Candy Day I) falls in this month, which means waking up and filling yourself up with candy and seeing all your fam! Also, spring begins, and animals (and people :)) get twitter-painted :) Another great month.

April is another favorite month of mine. The earth yawns, throws off its blanket of decay and begins to wake up once again. Tiny green buds turn into leaves as pink redbud and white dogwood blooms contrast against the dark trunks of the larger still dozing trees. The population around your backyard feeder suddenly becomes more diverse as the birds - not unlike their human counterparts "the retirees" - return from warmer climes. Squirrels chase other squirrels, male birds announce their availability, and your poor neutered dog chases his tail. And, it's time to make those big gardening decisions - annuals, perennials, weeds, or "oh, forget it let's just put in an in ground pool". Whatever else April is, after four months of barren cold and icy roads, it is always a welcome sight!
