As I take a few minutes to get away from this software I'd figure I'd give it a solid four. . .Even a moderate user like me can quickly adapt to many of the features of this popular spreadsheet program. Easy to use and utilize- it didn't take long for me to adapt to the features necessary to get quality work out of this product.Praising Microsoft is like rooting for Goliath, but they got this one right. . .

As much as I dislike Microsoft, I do like Excel. It is very intuitive and does the job. One neat feature is to be able to copy any data table from anywhere and paste into a spreadsheet. Then you can manipulate, add, average out etc. any data in the table and also have instant charts if you want.

The industry standard, but I've seen better (and more secure) apps.

As there is no RateItAll description for this software, Excel is a spreadsheet program primarily used for working with and manipulating numbers (eg financial statements, reports and graphs). I have used other spreadsheet programs (ie Lotus and Quattro); however, Excel seems to be the most powerful and intuitive. Moreover, Excel seems to be the standard for most offices which means proficiency in this software is virtually a necessity to survive in the modern office environment.

Can one do without it? Only a shame that there have not been any revolutionary improvements on it...

If you don't have this skill, you must take a course in it especially if you are seeking some kind of office related job. Being in the recruiting business, I find that almost 95% of my clients will not even look at someone that doesn't know how to use this feature proficiently.

I love this program - it's hard to believe Microsoft had anything to do with it! I grew up with LOTUS but find Excel just as logical and easier to use.

Excel is a necessity for most computer users and it is easy to use. I am still and will continue to learn tricks about creating spreadsheets, graphs and charts that I did not previously know about. That little paper clip office assistant dud is also very helpful. Just type in a question and he gives you a list of options and then very detailed instructions on how to complete the task you are tackling.

For a short time I didn't have Excel on my computer because I had bought a new one that didn't have it previously installed and I realized how much I missed it. There was a watered down version of an Excel "like" program but not nearly as versatile.

Only use it 'cause it's on the office desktop. Lotus 1-2-3 looks and feels much better.

I've used this since it was introduced. It is a fine spreadsheet. Too bad people mis use it for so many other things it isn't good at.

Excel bugs all the time. I don't think it is such a complicated software to develop, especially for the "best software company in the world"

They're the best office products you could get.

Excel is a godsend! But you know what bugs me... in the more recent version, if you center something across cells horizontally, it become impossible to resize or delete one of those columns without messing with the whole thing. Go back to the old system please!
