This season, is the best season and i think always will be. Instead of the constant drinking and partying and hooking up and everything, it was actually about real stuff people can always relate to. Most seasons are just about let's go to a bar and get drunk and pass out and get arrested. Then the next episode let's do it again. Yeah, that's amusing, but it's not what people go through every day. This casting in the season, specifically, was amazing. They chose people that were down to earth, but they also had their stories to tell, issues and all of that. What I loved, about this season was that it wasn't predictable, there was always something new. And you could tell the cast actually cared about eachother. They weren't continuesly fighting. Yeah, they had the wehole guys vs. girls thing but you could tell they genuinely cared about eachother and as JD always said, they were one big, disfunctional family. The other reviewers brought up that Katlynn and Ryan things, but they were just part of it. Given, they might have been in the spotlight more, but all of the cast added to make it a great season. With Katlynn, she was stuggling to become comfortable in her own skin, and you don't have to be transgenderred (as another reviewer brought up that not many people are transgenderred.) to feel like that to or to struggle with that.JD wanted to come looking for a family, one he never had. That's the kind of thing that I like to see rather then watching two people under a blanket. Sarah, even though she could be very annoying added to the season because she was trying to become a better person and trying to help people out. I think everyone wants that in some way and i think she did become a better person and really became a lot more open and excepting to different people. It was really cool to see Scott during this because when I saw his casting video I was like ughh, he seemed like someone who was completely into his looks and didn't care about anyone but himself. But that wasn't what it was, he was actually a really caring, sensitive guy that could really help people out and make them feel better.Devyn had a big mouth and at times I felt like telling her to shut up but she the show acutally would have been much different without her. It's kind of funny because on every season there is one lazy loud-mouth girl, that stays in bed all day. Then there was Chet who actually came out of his shell and was discovering things. It was really funny to see him change during the course of the show. He learned to let go a little bit and plus he was lots of fun to watchDuring most of the show Baya wasn't really there. But she is actually a really cool halarious person. She was on a lot of the dailies they have. You can watch them at realworlddailies.com. She was the one that for the most part got along with everyone in the house and she was the person that tried to settle the problems in the house. And of course there was Ryan. I really, by the end of the season respected, not just because he was in the army but also because he really grew and wasn't like on like one of the first episodes, the guy that always got drunk. When he got that phone call saying he had to report for duty again I actually was sorry too and felt bad that he would have to go through that again. He didn't have so much self-pity, it wasn't like "I don't wanna do it, ughh." but he felt bad his family, in specific his parents would have to go through it again. Even through all of their differences, they managed to come out loving each other and that's why I love them lots! :)

I've been reading reviews for the season. People, or critics maybe, like this season because it reminds them of real world past. Real world where they casted people who had different lives and clashed, without tons of sex and violence. Katelynn seemed to be the biggest kudo that everyone wanted to give MTV, she allowed the show to "explore" the complexity and reality of being transgendered. Quick question about the relevance of that though... How many people are transgendered? Out of the population of the world I am willing to put money on the fact that less than 1% of the world's population is transgendered or whatever you call the many phases of that before, during, and after surgery. I see no obvious relevance of that outside of a TrueLife episode. Devyn serves no purpose, she's not even cute to look at. Ryan is the poor soldier boy from Iraq...well is it me or has MTV casted veterans from Iraq before. Been there, done that, moved on. The other people aren't even worth mentioning. Cutting to the point, I tune in every week, not because I like the anticipation of wondering when Katelyn will "come out" to the other members of the cast who already know she was born a he. Or because I want to see Ryan shed more tears about being in the army that he proudly signed up for. I tune in because there is nothing else better to watch and MTV replays it all week. Why was jacka$$ such a high rated show, or Scarred? Let's stop to think about MTV's goldmine hit of The Hills...their fans have loved, and still do love drama! This silly season was a waste of time, money and energy. Come on, their token scene to replay in the beginning when they 'teased' the season was of JD breaking the table. He broke it because the girl's refused to clean up the house?! Seriously...that's the best this season could do? Didn't Hollywood's season have a former crackhead stripper, an alcoholic, and one really oversexed black man with dreads? Wow, what a jump MTV!

This is the current season of the Real World, and I've seen a couple of episodes so far. This is the first season where they have had 8 cast members at one time, and it seems hard to get a vibe on all of them. Two of the characters are very interesting so far. Kat is a transgender woman, which is a first for the show. She has a lot of issues, and watching her try to interact with others regarding her gender status can be interesting. Ryan is a young guy who recently came back from Iraq. He seems open about his experiences, and I think its great that MTV is allowing a young soldier to share his experiences with their audience.
