Greg Monroe might not stick around as a Hoya long enough to become one of their all time greats, but that doesn't mean he won't be one of the best centers to come through Georgetown. In his freshman year so far he is averaging 13 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. Those stats might not make eyeballs pop out of people's heads, but Georgetown's teams under JTIII are known for playing grind it out, low scoring games. Monroe's shooting percentage is good, and I find his assist total is impressive for a young, big guy. His stats as an 18 year old Freshman are comparable to Roy Hibbert's last year as a 22 year old Senior. Monroe is very athletic and a good face to the basket player for a guy with his size. He is projected as a top 10 or top 5 pick in the 2009 draft, so Monroe might be one in done here in DC.

He's big, and strong, and athletic and has made an impact his freshman year. I think he has some growing up to do - I don't particularly like his demeanor on the court. He clearly has all the talent in the world, however.
