Where I live this month can be as strange as march as far as expecting different weather everyday. There are plenty of cool dry sunny days, but also can have cold dreary rainfall, with wind.the leaves are just beginning to change here then too.the full color hasn't reached it's peak until mid november though.

Beautiful month--theres nothing like a blue October sky! plus the leaves turning, the nip in the air, and Halloween. The weather is usually sunny and golden.

Dry and still warm in October, It was a fun month when I was a kid, but no more, I can't wait until it's over, and spring gets here.

I love the fall color. This is also harvest time with fresh produce galore, fruits and veggies don't get any fresher than this time of year and I love going the farmers markets to get local produce. Fall is a great time of year to be in New England. It looks like somebody took a paint brush and colored the landscape. October is one of my favorite months.

A pretty good month.we still get some nice weather here. we can even get a few Indian summer days. the trees are usually in full bloom beauty with the leaves changing colors. this past year was not as good to my disappointment. a hotter summer and nice September did not help the leaves change. even though i am NOT complaining about the nice warm weather.October can be a pleasant month. we like to go on walks if the weather provides.UPDATE: this October has been nice for the most part. A few higher than normal temperatures. our trees did not fare too well not much color. had a bad storm a few days ago. the last month of decent weather before we get stuck with a long dreary winter.

I really like the month of October as fall is probably my favorite season. The cool temperatures, falling leaves, beautiful fall colors and so much more. The extreme heat is over and the extreme cold has not yet appeared.

Mostly because I live in Texas and it starts to cool off about this time.

The weather here is awesome! Can be pleasantly cool without being too cold and you can get days warm enough to wear shorts, even here in the Northeast. The colors are good.I get a real kick out of NFL games that start at 4:00 PM in this month. The game starts,we see bright sunshine and by games' end,it is nighttime and the lights are on.

I haven't cared about Halloween for years. But I like that it cools down and the leaves begin to change and fall around here. Very good sports month. Baseball playoffs and NFL and college football seasons, plus the start of the NHL season.

Is this month popular or what? In Australia we dont run around in costumes for Halloween, so we miss out on all the fun. And it seems to me that nearly all the people I know have their birthday in October, including my maths teacher. A pretty good month though!

October's pretty nice. It's not too cold, but it's really pretty. All the leaves are falling and the air smells nice and crisp. It's fun to walk in.

October is one of the best months. Thirty-one days of mild weather, colorful trees, imaginative Halloween costumes, and football. One gets to take advantage of the full wardrobe in October as the mild weather allows for most any color, fabric and style. Perhaps someone should change the name of the month though since October is named from the Latin octo meaning eight. October was the eighth month of the year until the Romans added July and August to the calendar.

Autumn in full spate with its crispness. Where I live it never gets too cold and October is the last month before the monsoon season of November to January. The last chance for comfortable outdoor activity, with just enough sunny days.

A good month to visit friends in the east or midwest; dry land breezes here alternating with cold foggy mornings; last avocados come down; lemons ripe.

Beginning of fall. Leaves begin to change. Not too cold and not too warm. Where I live the weather can be real nice, you can still go outside with just a light jacket or sometimes no jacket. Time to pack up your summer clothes and get out your fall/winter clothes. Time for fall decorating with those great fall colors. Halloween. Even time to think of Thanksgving and Christmas.

An OK month due to Halloween and Columbus Day, but there really is nothing special about the month itself. Signifies the winding down of fall and the approach of winter.

An OK month. Its getting colder, the days are getting shorter, and I'm getting depressed. Halloween made up for some of this, but I'm too old now. Columbus Day means no school!

I like October the best not because it is my birth month, but that it usually is the month with nice cool nights and beautiful colors in the change of seasons and the leaves of the trees just before they fall off in various colors. One of the very most colorful times of the year to me!

There's nothing better than going on a hay ride with your significant other, picking your own apples, snuggling up with a cup of hot cider and cider donuts, and holding hands while you walk through a scary haunted house.

The nights get longer and the air gets colder, but I love the sights and smells of October. It's the month for apple crisp, Jack O'Lanterns and Halloween candy.

One of the best months ever! I can't speak for the whole country (or world for that matter) but October is usually such a brilliant and gorgeous month in the mid-western US. Stunning golds, reds, oranges and yellows seem to suddenly appear everywhere. The oppressive humidity of summer has finally released its grip and the days and evenings become crisp and cool. Yet, you are still unburdened with the heavy coats and scarves of winter since even the coolest days of October usually only call for a sweater or light jacket. It's still warm enough to be outside day or night so naturally this is the time for bonfires, weenie roasts, fairs, flea markets and tromping around in the woods with your dog. And don't forget the camera - the dramatic colors and overcast skies can also make October a holiday for photographers. One of the main reasons I have always enjoyed Halloween as a holiday has more to do with the season and month it falls in than anything else. Something about this month and the changes it foreshadows has always sparked my imagination.
