Like with any site, RateItAll has its problems, but it is a place where people come to give their thoughts and opinions on different subject matters. This site has one of the biggest selections to choose from, and one of the most popular topics is politics, which a lot of times can get out of hand, most of the time from misunderstandings and plain not listening to one another. But for the most part, RateItAll is a pretty good place to visit.

RateItAll provides a valuable resource to users who wish to research companies and products by reading others' opinions and experiences before making a purchase or doing business. RateItAll also makes it easy for users to add products or sites which are not already in its database and provides a means for users to respond to reviews. RateItAll also provides a community setting which allows for communication between users. I'm new to the site and, so far, am extremely pleased with what RateItAll offers. It seems that RateItAll is doing quite well when compared to other review sites like resellerratings.com and epinions.com and, hopefully, will soon pass them in the number of retail sites and products reviewed. I say 'hopefully' because RateItAll is more user-friendly than other review sites I've visited.Keep up the great work!

On its way to becoming a "5", but still needs some work. That's why I'm here.
DeviantNic 09/16/2009
Glad to know that RateItAll has a way for us to rate it. It's sort of like volunteering at the local soup kitchen and actually putting a suggestion in the suggestion box regarding the food and service....or something like that.
vijai 03/23/2009
great site.

How could I not give this site 5 stars? ;)

Finally, a place where I can go to show my opinion. Always having to refresh or retype info though.

Well, what else? It has been a wonderful experience for me. It has helped to keep me young, believe it or not!

It's pretty great to be able to review _anything_ all in one place, particularly with access from social networking appications. The community on rateitall is smart and engaged which means I learn something new every day :) ps. I work here so I may be slightly biased ;)
wendy185 07/08/2008
so then, u could say that rate it all is the new Ralph Nader?
Donovan 06/22/2008
A great site! I have found many friendly people here. Although I may disagree with some on topics or issues, RIA reviewers for the most part are very courteous and kind. I have learned a lot from reading comments of intelligent reviewers that frequent this site. Many here offer encouraging words and support. Lawrence does an excellent job keeping things flowing in a civil manner. He continually updates the website and keeps it current and interesting. To everyone who has offered kind words to me or suggested ways for me to improve as a person or reviewer I sincerely say, thank you! I learn a little from every reviewers posts I read and because of this I feel I am a better person.

Great for reviews concerning things like beer, movies, and sports. A few cerebral writers can deliver solid commentary on books and art. Also a healthy venue for people who believe in adult fairy tales to share their historically inaccurate perceptions that validate your necessity to believe their god. Loses one star for the follow-the-butterfly mentality of trying to my-space the place and lacking the faith to truly stand alone from other websites.
trebon1038 06/05/2008
Ok Im biased...overall love the site but sometimes it gets a little hung up in one area and I need a break

A constantly improving site with a lot of potential.
twansalem 06/04/2008
RIA is probably my favorite website right now, and it is definitely my biggest procrastination resource. While I realize that it's orignal purpose was for rating consumer goods and such, I use it primarily for entertainment, although the product lists can be useful from time to time.
Wiseguy 04/02/2008
I look at the situation of topic spamming as if I were a share holder, site Administration has a responsibility to the bottom line. Rateitall is in an unusual position with respect to rating product and opinion on topics. As far as lists go, I would go so far as instituting an approval process for lists in an attempt to reduce the amount of redundancy and stupidity. Topics on Faith is one of several topics that should be scrutinized along with lists that promote oneself, ie, wiseguys favorite liberals, rate wiseguys plan for invading Iran, wiseguys favorite color, and so on. I am confident that any decisions made with regard to maintaining the integrity of the site can be archived with balance.

I love this site but it is a little slow at times. Other than that it is great!

Two more stars if they would make the place you click if the review was helpfull bigger than a dang BB.

Hey, everyone. Or at least those that still remember me. Well, Im back. After a couple of years, Im back on here. So if you remember me, then cool. If you don't know me- nice to meet you. Although Im back I probably won't be posting nearly as much as before, however.

If this widget performs as expected, interactivity has reached a new level on the desktop.
zbeauvais 05/09/2007
This widget is a fantastic idea. It takes away the need to open up a separate page to write a review with comments pages. It is also easier to see the content about which you are commenting. An idea, however, might be to add a scroll function to make it easier to see what one has written, and make edits.

i love it!

For me, this is a pleasant site to come and amuse myself, share an opinion or six and read some pretty good writing from several people.

I'm not really sure why that last comment was reposted. I just wanted to check the date on it before I wrote this post and it just reposted itself. I wanted to weigh in on the events here on RIA the last few days. I know we lost a few good people, Maven and Sparks that I know of, but I'm unclear who else has left. It was about a year and a half ago that I had my own "debate" here with another reviewer that left me feeling somewhat unenthusiastic about coming back, so I took a little break. I certainly understand the need for a break. Having said that, I cannot say enough how dissapointed I am with both of those that left and the behavior of one of the reviewers, I expected better. I really enjoy Rateitall, and what I enjoy most is the quality, the level of intelligence, the humor, and the integrity of the vast majority of reviewers here. This is why I am so dissapointed. So a few harsh words were said. So feelings were hurt.Big, friggen deal!! If someone is so easily offended online, I cannot imagine how they handle their own "real" life. That's what dissapoints me, I thought they were made of sterner stuff, they certainly presented themselves as such. I was wrong. It is the equivalent of taking your ball and going home.I challenge both of these reviewers to come back and prove me wrong. We are all entitled to a bad day. Don't leave us with a bad immpression of you. I hold both of you in high esteem. Personally, I consider it an honor to log onto RIA. It is humbling to me to be among such great minds. I don't come close to the smarts that I find here, nor do I have the wordly experience that most of you seem to have. My travels have been limited, to say the least, my education even more so, and to be completely honest, most of the beer that I have drank in my life has been plain old Budweiser. So to log on here and to be able to "talk" with you, and even more, to be "listened" to is both humbling and an honor. We should all consider it so! One more thing. I don't understand the preoccupation with "unhelpfuls". Should we really expect everyone to agree with us? Original Comment: Lawrence and his alter "Magellan" are deserving of no less than a five star rating from me. It's obvious he puts a lot of thought, work, commitment and pride into Rateitall, as both an adminstrator and a reviewer, and it shows. Above all (at least to me) he has a social conscience. He speaks his mind and defends his views. I appreciate his efforts.

How can you not love this site? So many colorful personalities, so many interesting opinions, so much loooooove...
numbah16tdhaha 03/18/2007
I think I may have tried this website out one time...
illusionbuster 03/18/2007
RIA seems to be owned and run by a bunch of liberals & commies who really don't believe in freedom of speech, they are constantly looking for the slightest reason to delete my post even if they have to be just plain dishonest about it. BIGBABY has had similar experiences, he's complained about being sick of expressing his opinion and then being attacked the administration.

I don't know what happened to this website, but it has gone downhill in a hurry. Used to be one of my favorite sites, but ever since they redesigned it, it has sucked. Extremely slow. It takes two consecutive mouse clicks to get it to search. The most annoying thing is you have to click on each individual review to read the entire comment - unlike in the past where you can read the first 20 comments in their entirety. I hate it when a site gets redesigned just to improve the appearance but in effect makes every other aspect 10 times worse.
oscargamblesfr o 02/24/2006
Great site, lot of fun, good lists and diversity of topics some cool cats in here...three tiny complaints. 1. I searched for 60's cartoon star Commander McBragg and came up totally empty. 2. Too many 'Hendrix sucks' comments from 14 year olds or angry death metal kids. Music comments in general need a lil' boost beyond the trite and/ or moronic. 3. Not enough Asthenic Beast and 'Dumb Things People Do' type weblists...that was sort of a joke but I'm a real contrarian...fascinated by wondering who are these people, what dimension are they from- are they nuts, kids, or what... my guess is just kids foolin' around.
Gingrich stinks 02/07/2006
I like reviews from the smart people. If you are going to use bad words and inappropiate content, please leave this site.
Paolo 01/20/2006
Rateitall is great in nearly everything it can be. One can hear every variety of opinion on a vast and ultimately endless array of issues, items, and more. I would have to say as a communication website it holds up as well. It is far less superficial than myspace, facebook, or anythign of that design is set up to be. I can't help but feel the occassional aggrevation at those nasty comments, but that is life...and people are people.

It is an interesting but long story how I came onto RIA. I actually stumbled onto this site by accident because I wanted to find out some things about TV Evangelists (because there were a few which I didn't like at the time), then stumbled onto this site (end of 2003). So I've known about it over a year before I officially joined. Then every once in a while, I looked to see what was going on in the TV Evangelists section. Then about October last year, I actually logged on as Powerful Paul but I only rated TV Evangelists. Since I was inexperienced with these internet type things, I didn't dare go out into main RIA then! But late January, I wanted to comment on a particular Evangelist, but couldn't log back in. Then I decided to come on as GJ. I no longer cared about that other Powerful Paul account, besides I can never get back into it again. So I posted what I wanted, but then, I felt a bit braver and started posting on other topics. I realised I was getting a lot of helpfuls so that encouraged me. But then when I saw more and more weblists and just how interesting this site is, I decided to stay permanently. I have had a really good time here, and this is a hobby I enjoy (call me a crazy nut!). It has given me the chance to waste some time, help people with my comments, given me the opportunity to show that just because I love Jesus, doesn't mean I am a bore, plus, and most importantly, I have made some real friendships from this site, on a personal home email basis, not just an RIA messaging basis. I find this site to be very tame compared to some of the Newsgroups out there and overall, it is well monitored and even if all the lists may not be the highest of quality, I still have fun. I'm not that overly concerned about 'quality.' Well I am, but if it is fun, it is OK with me!
Specialboothvi cJr. 11/12/2005
I guess i'll stay for a little while. It's just i don't like all those posts that can be mean and stuff. It's kind of hard for me to choose whether i'll stay or not. But i'll stay i guess.

this place friggin sucks...:)
texasyankee 04/20/2005
Sort of getting used to this site. I find it entertaining, good for a laugh most times with all the comedians out there, good for information and a change of perspective on things. I do find some things to be out of proportion because I think people don't vote throughout the list therefore it's off balance and if you get enough teenagers or soemthing they will vote for something someone my age or above doesn't care much for and therefore doesn't vote on it. It's cool you can click and check age/sex groups different views too. They need to have a part on the website where you can see how many people are logged in and who. Maybe there's a reason this isn't showed but in most forums(and this is sort of a forum) this is there.
Mr.Political 04/06/2005
Like many other reviewers, I found RateItAll purely by chance when I was searching for something on the internet. Since then, RIA has served as a great way to spend a few minutes every now and then on posting my views or just venting. The site is also a good way to learn the point of view and perspective of others- especially when it comes to politics. Overall, RIA is a rather user-friendly, interesting place to go on when bored.

Kinda cool rating the rating site. I give it a 5, neat seeing everybody's opinions.
