Not one of the smoother vodkas I have tasted. Kind of reminds me of Jet Fuel

Hangar One actually runs a pretty neat vodka tasting thing on weekends, straight out of their hangar on the creepy, deserted side of Alameda.

(Alameda is an island off of Oakland that peers out on San Francisco that used to be a military base. The land and surrounding water were so toxic from the military's stint there that it was uninhabitable for years).

I'm not one for vodka "tasting" - but this stuff is so good, and so pure, that if I had been feeling better at the 10AM vodka tasting, I likely would have drank the six glasses or so that my friends did.

But that's neither here nor there. This is very, very good vodka.

This is my new favorite vodka. Distilled in small batches by hand using pot stills.

Update: I really can't say enough about how good this vodka is. It's ridiculously smooth. So smooth, it tastes like the prototype of all vodka. So smooth, it is probably illegal in many places. So smooth, it makes me weep for the vodka that I've imbibed when I could have been drinking this.
