good review........

I got this Sony 52 inch LCD (W series) from Amazon Warehouse Deals, it was listed as an open box. The price was a STEAL, ($1700) and it was in PERFECT condition. The picture is incredible. EVERYONE that sees the picture on this TV is absolutely blown away. It looks great on the wall. I am 100% delighted with this product, thank God I did my research. I have an HD cable box, Denon AV Receiver with Mirage sattelite surround sound and a bluray player. My receiver is not HDMI, so I'm using optical audio from cable box and bluray - the sound is awesome. My TV watching is limited to sports (football and golf look spectacular), PBS (HD is stunning), and an occasional on-demand HD movie. I'm going to invest in the Planet Earth (BBC video) series, I hope it comes in bluray.
-You won't go wrong with this TV - it's a lower price point than the XBR series, and I'm not aware of missing any features or picture quality. If I could justify the cost of an XBR, I would have done it, but with such a great price on an open-box W series, I couldn't resist.

Have been very pleased with the recent purchase of the Sony 52 inch TV. It was delivered right on time, unpacked by the carrier and set up. Have had no problems with it and it has a beautiful picture. No complaints at all.

I was looking for a 52" TV to complete a loft in my house. I did the usual go to Best Buy, check out the going out of business sale at Circut city. I found that I really liked the 52" Bravia 120hz tv. However, i didnt want to spend $2,500 plus tax on it. While at Circut City a gemtelmen told me to get the model number of a tv I liked and check out Amazon. I put the model number in and got the tv for $1,869. Majer M&J inc is who I bought it from. I revieved a confirmation e-mail including a tracking number. I ordered the tv on a Sunday morning and got it Friday afternoon. Make sure you give them a phone number since the driver calls you when he is near your address and needs you to sign for the tv. The TV is awsome. Hung it yesterday and it has an amazing picture. I already have a 60" Sony DLP and I thought its picture was really good, and it is, but this tv is much crisper and a treat to watch. I dont know if I would pay $2,500 plus tax for it, but at the price on Amazon, its a good buy. I was a little nervous to buy a tv on-line, but it went smooth and was a great experience. Another side note. I go the Cheetah universal mounting bracket for $30.00. Worked awsome. Stores want $250.00 for the things!!! Dont do it!

Great picture, very good sound(for an LCD). Fantastic price on Amazon compared to any retail store and CEVA was fast and professional with their delivery, placed the TV exactly where I wanted it, helped to hook up the TV and stayed around until everything about the TV was checked out.

I was highly pesimistic about ordering such a large, expensive TV through amazon and having it shipped, but everything went smoothly and I would highly recommend it for anyone else.

CONS:
TV is pretty slow whenever switching video modes (cable to DVD)and also has a lengthy delay whenever swithcing from a HD channel to a non-HD channel.

The picture on this TV can't be beat! The only complaint is it seems to "skip" every so often but I'm not sure if it is the TV or our cable lines! But it doesn't matter--I love the TV
