I love this television. However, after owning it for 12 months, the picture went black on me and after paying 699 for it, it cost 290.00 to have fixed. The guy said it was the motherboard. Then I brought it home and it started clicking when you went to turn it on. The power grid went. So that had to get replaced. Then I brought it back and the component jacks worked, but the audio started this very loud buzzing sound. So I had to switch back to standard jacks. Talk about buying a lemon! Nothing but trouble from the moment I hooked it up. I might recommend Samsung at this point. But it was a completely unfair melt down if you ask me. Especially after spending 700.00! They don't make tv's like they used to. My last Sony lasted 28 years. This one? 12 months! I feel robbed!!!

Chose this TV for it's aesthetics about a year ago, this was also my first LCD TV purchase. Sounds great and the Image is very good, much better than a lot of the other TVs I compared against at Best Buy. Setup: Has been used with Dish Network, HD Cable, HDTV signal, a PS2, various VCR/DVDsMajor CON: I don't know if this is true of this Sony line, all Sony TVs, or just this particular one but the remote is SLOW, annoyingly slow to warm up. For some reason the power button on the remote works fine but the volume, input, and channel change take about 5 minutes to "warm up". If you're TV is going to be mounted up high where you can't reach the volume buttons manually then you're in for some frustration.Minor CON: Sometimes when not in use it makes a high pitch buzz, it's not noticeable most of the time, and probably do to static build-up or something. Also, the HDTV channel scan needs an external antenna (won't work without it), luckily any old rabbit ear one will do.PROS: Just the right amount of options and pre-set settings, image is great, the HD is awesome, it's built-in speakers sound great (provided you don't crank up the volume too high).I love this TV but I give it 3-stars because of the issues with the remote signals.NOTE: I also have a Universal Remote that I use, and it too has the same problem where it's slow to "warm-up", it's a TV issue, and not the actual remote.

I was enjoying this TV until on Day 31 it developed an electric blue line running vertically down the screen -- over the picture, over the CC. The repair guy said the screen needed to be replaced, that THIS MODEL had ongoing problems -- and SONY knows it, the repair people know it, and now I know it too. Google Bravia and thin blue line and you'll see, this is NOT an uncommon problem The man recommended any other Bravia, but not the M.

This tv has been aswesome. I wanted a relatively small screen and did not need 1080 resolution. The 720p displays a great picture. I use the TV in an office type setup and it is perfect for watching the news or sneaking away for the movie of your choice. I was a little skeptical about the shipping as I had never experienced CEVA shipping but we ordered this set in early Dec 08 and received it as promised a week before Christmas. The sound, which is normally not so great from flat panel sets, is actually better than my 46" 1080P (Sharp). I am looking at sound systems for the Sharp but won't need them for the Sony 32". At least not where and how I use it.

I gave a review on the 26 inch model and it is identical in every way to the bigger KDL32M4000. Picked it up from Video Only for $649! A well priced mid-range Sony TV that is top notch quality. The XBR6 model is awesome, but not worth the jump in price to me ($999!). I recommend this 32 inch HDTV!

This 32-inch LCD is perfect for the bedroom. Great picture quality with HD OTA local channels. Sound can be on the quiet side at times, but nothing that can't be adjusted.

We upgraded from a 15-year-old SONY 19-inch CRT TV. It was about time! I did a lot of comparison before buying this HDTV, looking at different models in the local stores and reading reviews like this one. I admit, I'm partial to SONY after 3 camcorders, 2 VCRs (one Hi8 and one full size) plus the old TV. SONY makes great products that work well. We've NEVER had a problem with any SONY product. This new HDTV in no exception. The set up was easy, the instruction booklet was helpful and easy to understand. The picture is great - good contrast, viewing angle, etc. Even the onboard speakers are good. I'll be adding a new SONY DVD player and Home Theater system in the future. And, it will all work together. The only disappointment is the remote. It's shaped like a 9-inch long 1x3 board with square corners, not rounded or comfortable to hold. (Maybe a woman designed it this way so us guys wouldn't hang on to it too long). Anyway, I let SONY know about this in their online survey. My other concern was buying this TV online from a seller on the other side of the country. I live in Washington State and purchased it from J&R Music World in New Jersey and they shipped it via UPS (FREE Shipping, too!) In their Tracking Note they informed me that they were putting extra packing material in the SONY carton "in order to assure a safe journey." Well it worked! No dents, no dings, no scratches. They went the extra mile. I'm happy and so is my wife. We paid $200 less than any of our local retailers, including the box stores.
