I have owned and used an HP LaserJet 5L printer for more than a few years now, and it is still going strong. The size of the printer is compact enough to be used on one's desk without too much clutter, the toner can be shaken to squeeze a few more copies out before one must go to the store for a new cartridge (as opposed to an InkJet which just goes empty), it has two output slots (one that ejects out the top for normal paper printing and the other which ejects out the front for that paper type that shouldn't be curled), and it prints clearly with little or no smudging. On the down side, this printer has a relatively small paper bin so it wouldn't work well as a networked printer. Also, the paper jams quite often if you don't keep the paper bin relatively full. Nevertheless, all things considered, the HP LaserJet 5L is a relatively solid personal printer with reasonable operating costs.

A great printer but only gave it a 3 because it hasn't been around long enough to replace the LJ4 as a well built long lasting printer. Recent paper jam problem was down to paper weighting on the tray which can be solved in two seconds. Out other LJ 5 has never given us any probs but I recommend a 32Mb memory upgrade (£30 or $41)

Good and durable all around printer. Has good quality printing and won't cost an arm and a leg.

Very fast and has decent quality output, but only good for networked offices because it's very expensive compared to Inkjet.

This printer always has good print quality but for some reason it's likely to have a paper jam. I tried two of these laser printers at work with the same result.

A quiet printer, but the print speed is only mediocre. Good quality. No color, only black and white. I had problems after two years of ownership. The printing cartridge shouldn't need to be replaced every two years.

This printer is quick and provides sharp text. A very fast printer, but it is bulky. Not only is it bulky, it is expensive. You get what you pay for, sharp quality text and pictures and fast printing.

This print gives fast printing and offer high resolution. Any problem with this product, there's a built in help showing you exactly how to fix it. The printer is network ready and it allows user to store jobs on the printer for future printing. Install canal is easy to do. The best thing about HP is their customer service is excellent. They are fast and friendly.

I like HP laser Jet since this model provides a better result compared with other brand names and models. The print out look clear and sharp especially the graphics. In addition, HP product is popular because it's easy and convienent for me to buy parts and ink cartridges since most of the Computer stores carry the HP product and supplementary.
