Nikon's coolpix series offers superb digital cameras. The resolution is great. Memory storage capacity is huge varying with the requirements of the users. Varying capture modes are an added advantage. The picture quality is also very nice. Compact in size with a good display. In total really very good digital cameras.

I have been using a Nikon Coolpix 3200 for about a year. This is my first digital camera, and I couldn't have made a better choice. The camera is easy enough for any beginner to use, but sophisticated enough to satisfy a user's requirements as his/her knowledge of and uses for digital photography grow. As is the case with all technically oriented products, the price/performance for these cameras has improved to the extent that the Coolpix 3200 has pretty much been replaced by higher megapixel models, available at the same price as the 3200 was available for only a year ago. This should not deter the average buyer from entering the digital arena with the Coolpix 3200; which may still be available, and at an extremely reasonable price.

This review is based on the 3100 series camera. This camera does what it is advertised to do, taking very nice pictures at 3.1 MP resolution, which comes out to about 2000x1500 on default settings. My major complaint with this camera is that it only uses 2 AA batteries, which it eats like candy. My second, minor complaint is that it takes a long time to take a picture - about 1.5 sec from when the button is pressed. I don't want to rate it a 3 because it takes excellent photographs - maybe a 3.5.

Nikon 5700 is a great camera for the serious photographers who want total control like they are used to with 35mm cameras. The 5 megapixel CCD give you incredibly sharp photos.

(I have the Coolpix 2500, and my rating is based off this particular model) This is a pretty easy-to-use camera; I have not owned a digital camera before this, and this was good for me as a beginner. The flip-in lens design is excellent for protecting the lens. The LCD screen is small, but for everyday use it isn't bad. This isn't for "professional" pictures, though it contains many features which are quite helpful (Zoom, automatic/manual flash, different resolutions, and even a 15-second film option (no sound)). The only problem that I had so far is that whenever I load the software for the camera, my printer just stops working, until I uninstall the program and re-install the printer software. This may be an isolated incident, I'm not sure. But, overall, this is a good camera for general use. Other models contain more/less options, and it's a pretty reasonable price.

The Nikkon Coolpix 990 is the best buy on the digital camera market. 3.34 megapixel resolution, combined with the best CCD and color display on the market, make this $999 camera stand above the rest. If I had the money, it'd be the only one I'd buy.

Excellent camera. The quality is phenomenal. It's easy to use, and you have all the options that you could have with a regular 35mm camera. The additional lenses are reasonably priced, and customer service is excellent.

One of the broadest functioning digital cameras. Feature for feature, one of the best buys. High megapixel capture, good variety of capture modes. Easy to use but takes awhile to learn the many features. Swivel lens design allows the user to hold the camera overhead in a crowd and see what you are taking a picture of.

Nikon has always excelled in technology and their digital cameras are great. They combine new methods used for digital cameras and keep conventional techniques for taking pictures incorporated in their design.

I give it a 5 because it is 3.3 megabytes. Easy to use and puts out good quality pictures. Also has a good set of accessories.

Bad- expensive, bad body design. Suggestion- make a spot-shot style like others, or a LSR format. Slow shutter. Good- sharp crisp image.

A great camera for more advanced photography, especially for close-up work. Maybe too much (complicated) for everyday use. For the more serious photographer, it is excellent.

Nikon Coolpix 990 is a great camera with excellent resolution. You should get a better adapter as it only goes for 40 minutes on battery.

Speaking only for the C950. Excellent camera. Fast, with the Nikor lens and incredible flash speed. It should have its own category here.

While Nikon makes excellent E-M cameras, their digital cameras are not quite as good. Its lense does compare nicely with the lenses of other series, however.

I bought my Nikon camera about 3 years ago and I have not complained about it since. Finding a good camera is difficult because you want to be sure that you get pictures that last a life time. I do not own a Coolpix Series this brand has always produced good lasting and satisfying work. So I will support that line any time.

Nikon Coolpix has the sharpest image in all Digital cameras. It is as good as the Nikon SLR. The only problem is the price, it is too high.
